My daughter and I absolutely love ?The Grand Hotel? we have stayed there 3 times in the last 12 months and we are booked to go back again in April.
The place just has a fabulous feel, the history and the atmosphere.
Staff are always friendly and helpful.
The concierge are always very welcoming from the moment we arrive until the sad day for my 6yr old that we have to leave!
We can?t wait to come back, again and again and again.
We plan on making memories there for years to come.

A bit old and tired looking but great facilities and beautiful location overlooking the sea.
Nearby activities: Water sports, boat trips, shopping all within walking distance. Plenty of hop on buses to take you to neighbouring locations.

We had a budget room but some have sea views but more expensive. Position is good too get to most places within walking distance. No 22 bus stops outside and will get you to most attractions in Torquay and Paignton. Nice bar and pool terrace.
Rooms: Even though we had a budget room it was quite nice, just a poor veiw. About an extra £50 a night for a good view!
Nearby activities: No 22 bus gets you to the caves, model village, bygones and high street in one direction and Paignton Zoo in the other. Other attractions in the town centre are within walking distance.
Walkability: A bit hilly in places but you can get to most places within a 20-30 minute walk

A very beautiful hotel in a lovely location.
Uniquely and quirky decor is fabulous!
All staff are immaculate, smart, friendly, polite and the best.
Rooms especially sea view are lovely.
Tidy very spotless and immaculate.
Entrances are very inviting, clean, spotless and welcoming.
Spa is amazing.
Pools... well I just didn't want to get out..
Library and bar not to mention the gorgeous piano..
Dogs welcome.. although I didn't take mine. Boxers would love it I am sure but it would be a scene out of 'Beethoven'.
Food is wonderful especially breakfasts!
You have a beautiful hotel and wonderful staff and facilities. see you again . x

I only went in for coffee as we were on the midland pullman and that was the destination. It must have been very grand in its day but the service and the view was wonderful.

We enjoyed staying in the Grand Hotel! Two swimming pools , we were lucky with weather, so we're indoor swimming pool only once , everything was great! We loved our room with sea ??view, it was cleaned every day. The staff around the hotel were great, thanks very much to all of them!!!

Grand entrance, lobby and bar. The staff are friendly. The pool is nice. The rooms however are worn and a bit rubbish.
We had the window as open as it would go (which isn't much) with a sea view room... Zero air! It wasn't until the next day we were told there was a fan hidden away beside the safe. It didn't change anything though; it was still unbearably stuffy and hard to sleep. The bed and bedsheets were both very budget and the furniture in the room didn't quite fit, size-wise.
Location is both great and not great at the same time. It's a wonderful area but if you want to go to anything in Torquay you have to walk to the main harbour area because there's nothing where the hotel is. It's a short and pleasant walk, but it's a walk.
