“We had a first floor standard twin room which had plenty of room for the two of us. The room was clean and tidy, the bathroom similar, with shower over bath. Octopus non-slip mat provided. Good for me because my balance is compromised. Stairs wide, easy to access . Breakfast very good to excellent with full range of cereals, fruit, yogurt, cooked English style, porridge, eggs any way you may like them, tea coffee, juice etc. They even offer kippers which I had twice. Some buffet some served. You only had to ask. Where appropriate, restaurant service excellent. We both contracted Covid though not from the hotel. It was within our 50 strong group. Hotel staff were exceedingly helpful and understanding. On request, some meals were brought to our room because we were too unwell to go to the restaurant. Dinner was good to very good with three good courses, and a wide range of dishes. Some table service was available and always with a smile. For all our group, the ballroom was a major component. It was quite a large, sprung maple floor in good condition and with accessible comfortable seating. Water was provided for the whole group. There was a bar, but few of our group drink much alcohol. There are two good sized ballroom floors. We were on the ground floor whilst a second ballroom is downstairs. Although we were there to dance, the complex of which the Victoria is one part, offers many facilities e.g. bowls, swimming pool, entertainments bar etc. Lastly, all the staff, especially restaurant and reception are helpful and friendly.
