Wonderful Valentine?s tasting menu at The Horn of Plenty. Very friendly and welcoming staff, easily accommodating when we had to leave earlier than planned. Lovely atmosphere. Would definitely come back for another meal or maybe even stay.

It?s an honour to be photographing weddings at the incredible Horn of Plenty in 2025 and 2026. Perched on the edge of Dartmoor, this luxurious country house hotel offers breathtaking views, elegant interiors, and a reputation for outstanding service.
The venue?s beautiful gardens and sweeping vistas provide a spectacular backdrop for wedding photography, and the intimate atmosphere makes it a truly special place for couples to celebrate. I?m so excited to capture the love and joy of my couples? big days at this wonderful venue.

We decided for the first time ever to go away at Christmas and what would be better than this Devon hotel known over many years for its stunning cuisine. Overall we were disappointed with the outcome and next year will stay at home. The hotel is lovely and commands a wonderful position above the Tamar. The room was good and large. Service was top class - congrats to all the staff - but our 3 days lacked a theme and any real leadership. If the idea was that we were to be left to do our own things then we feel that should have been made clear at the start. We feel that a better effort should have been made to integrate us together.
The food was not generally as stunning as we had hoped; the Christmas lunch was rather poor, as were one or two other dishes. The Boxing Day taster menu with wines was excellent and we would pick out the Venison and Beef fillet dishes as top class. An explainer with the wines would have been helpful. There was an excellent falcony display.
You would expect such a place to be expensive but we did not feel we got full value for our money over the 3 nights of Christmas.

An excellent stay at THP. The friendly staff, cleanliness, quality of the food, superb views from the restaurant and five acres of gardens, gave us such a relaxing experience, we did not want to leave.

I was gifted a voucher for my birthday - celebratory dinner for two - and was not disappointed. The experience was special. We were greeted by the fire with glass of prosecco and canapes. Delightful. The three course meal was a gastronomic extravaganza. Sublime, washed down with a lovely bottle of wine and topped off by a sumptuous dessert. Can't wait to go back

We hired the whole venue for our wedding in September 2024, we had. Beautiful day the venue is beautiful and food was fantastic, staff were wonderful. The only issues we had were breakfast was very slow

We held our micro wedding at the Horn of Plenty recently, and it was the most special, magical experience that we could have hoped for. The lovely staff looked after us to perfection, the rooms were beautiful, and the food sublime. As I have IBS, food is always a concern, but the chef and his team did everything they could to give me delicious food which I thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel itself is gorgeous and so comfortable with wonderful views across the Tamar Valley. We're looking forward to many more visits for anniversaries, and just to get away from it all.

We held our small and personal wedding at this wonderful venue. We were just stunned by the wonderful views from the hotel, and also the absolutely amazing food that came from the kitchen. Which clinched it for us.
Shirna, who was our wedding coordinator along with all the staff went above and beyond to make our dream day into the reality we had invisced.
The communication throughout the entire process was spot on. And nothing was too much trouble. The whole venue was absolutely spotless. Extremely comfortable beds, and gorgeous food made this the best day of our lives.
We cannot thank you enough. With so much appreciation.

We chose this lovely picturesque hotel to celebrate my daughter?s birthday by having a lovely afternoon tea. We were greeted by a very friendly lady (sorry I didn?t get her name) who served us a delicious afternoon tea. She even took our photo (including the food of course!). Everything was very clean and well presented. Fabulous gardens and interesting planting too. When the weather is right I should think the balcony and gardens are delightful places to sit to enjoy the lovely views.

We were originally supposed to have our wedding here in 2020 but due to COVID this didn't happen. However we have been there twice since and it's a great place for a two-night break for a couple to get away from the buzz of a city. We had dinner on both nights including the tasting menu one evening, and by the end of it, we were perfectly full. All the staff from reception, the restaurant, maintenance to housekeeping seemed cheery and helpful.
This last week we had our baby with us. I wouldn't necessarily suggest bringing very young children here as it feels the environment is better suited for a couple's get-away, however we didn't have a choice, and we felt very warmly welcomed by everyone.
Also great to have EV charging (16A limit; not usually a problem but worth being aware of for planning) on site!
