We were originally supposed to have our wedding here in 2020 but due to COVID this didn't happen. However we have been there twice since and it's a great place for a two-night break for a couple to get away from the buzz of a city. We had dinner on both nights including the tasting menu one evening, and by the end of it, we were perfectly full. All the staff from reception, the restaurant, maintenance to housekeeping seemed cheery and helpful.
This last week we had our baby with us. I wouldn't necessarily suggest bringing very young children here as it feels the environment is better suited for a couple's get-away, however we didn't have a choice, and we felt very warmly welcomed by everyone.
Also great to have EV charging (16A limit; not usually a problem but worth being aware of for planning) on site!

Lovely views from the outdoor seating area. We opted to eat outdoors and enjoyed the 3 course evening meal. The food was very tasty though the portions a bit small for my liking. The cheeseboard had a lovely selection of cheeses and the staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely an enjoyable experience.

We served ice cream at a wedding here today. The staff were brilliant, attentive and polite ensuring the Bride, Groom and guests needs were met. Absolutely stunning location. All the canapes and cocktails looked exceptional.

We stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast. We had a friendly greeting from Barbara on arrival who showed us around and to our room. The room was comfortable and the shower was excellent. Sarah looked after us at the bar and Jeremy the host joined us for a drink and introduced us to the chef Kit who explained the menu. The food was outstanding with plenty of choice. The guinea fowl and the beef were superb. The service was exemplary throughout our stay and the location is great if you want to explore Dartmoor. We took our dog Sadie and she enjoyed her stay too. Thank you, we would definitely recommend.

Booked for my son's birthday lunch. Hotel, grounds and views are amazing. Car park was the only downside to the whole experience.
Food & drinks: Food and drink were exquisite. 1st class service as well

We attended a wedding there recently. It is a beautiful venue with lovely gardens and views over the Tamar Valley. The food was excellent, as was the service. You definitely need transport if visiting here as it's not in an urban location

The Horn of Plenty is truly spectacular! You will not visit a place like this in the whole of the south west. Staff, Food, Accommodation and Wedding venues are all outstanding. 5/5 stars.

Food & drinks: This was a lunch time meal.Trying to be fine dining so small portions but with no flavour. Waitress was totally clueless about the menu and had to go and check what catch of the day was and what the ingredients were that were listed.Service charge was automatically added to the bill without asking?? probably in the small print somewhere.

On the 17th of May my now husband and I got married at the Horn of Plenty then went on to celebrate with family and friends in the evening.Originally it was the location of the Hotel and the most amazing views that sold it to us but after meeting the Wedding Planners Jess and Shirna it was an easy choice. The hotel itself is cosy and theaccommodation for ourselves and our guests was amazing. Your every need is catered for, dogs included. The organisation for the big day was amazing and everything was laid out and utilised to perfection. The wedding planners were professional informative kind and reassuring throughout the process. The food is out of this world, nothing is too much trouble for Kit the chef, he was engaging and extremely helpful in our menu planning, which certainly didn't disappoint on the day.Overall our day was perfect and we would recommend any couples planning a wedding to make The Horn of Plenty their choice, they will certainly not be disappointed.

Staff are great nothing too much trouble. Food is good but could be better. More choice on starters and desserts would be good.

Arrived today on the off chance of getting a drink. We were welcomed and asked to sit in the drawing room which was beautiful and we had to ourselves. We asked for some crisps which they didn?t have but they said they could make us some sandwiches so we had those instead and very nice they were too. Very knowledgeable waitress who was also attentive and if she didn?t know an answer, went to find out. Will definitely visit again, this time with family. Feel like we stumbled on a hidden gem here.

Best Vegan afternoon tea I have had in a long time. We had a very specially afternoon celebrating mother's Day and I was delighted that the Horn of Plenty offer a vegan option. The cakes were so delicious and beautiful. The sandwiches were amazing not just the usually cucumber but some really creative flavors.Thank you to the wonderful team for making our afternoon special. I would highly recommend.

Not good at all, rooms are noisy from people going in and out slamming doors.Sat for an hour and a half in the restaurant and all I got was a small plate of leaves with Beetroot and dressing.A group of rich people came in and they were served within minutes and their main meals not long after. Have now left and gone to a local pub who deserves my custom. Not happy with The Horn of Plenty...a lot of money for little service.Update: they said 35 minutes was given between arrival and my main meal, then why did I sit there for an hour having only eaten 3 lettuce leaves, a tiny sliced beetroot and a teaspoon of dressing? Why was I then waiting a further 30 minutes from that point, still having no main meal in front of me. Yet a rich family walk in and are given preferential treatment straight away over everybody else.Stop telling lies Horn of Plenty, I'm not a fool.
