Stopped here 9/3/25 not impressed. We have stopped before and it was acceptable but this time not so. We took our dog this time and was charged for her(didn?t mind the charge) but we had exactly the same room as the first stay so why the charge? Room was very small and looked as if it was last decorated in the 70?s. The evening meal. Was nothing special, for the price, it was served in the bar area and it felt like a bar meal although the prices were the same as the restaurant. Food was ok but very small portions. Think this will be my last visit to this hotel.

As expected of a 3 star hotel , however parking is an additional charge which isn't hidden whilst booking but an unwarranted cost if your staying at the hotel. the restaurant didn't meet my expectations a little over priced and too extravagant for a 3star hotel.ive visited again and now given 4stars for the breakfast was excellent with only a downside of the times of service ending at 09:30 on weekdays,much prefer 10:00.
Noteworthy details: Breakfast excellent.

We had booked a room at The Two Bridges but were moved to The Beresford due to power cuts at the Two Bridges. The Beresford was ok, but the room was very small. We were freezing after a day out hiking on the moor but there was no way for us to warm up in the shower because the water from the shower was just a trickle. Our stay was ok otherwise.

Booked in for work, my bedroom was ok but quite pokey, and the bathroom was so tiny you couldn't even use the sink properly. It was right on the front main road and without double glazing the noise from that was quite loud. Also, there was a cleaning cupboard and other doors outside in the hall which were slamming late and early. Staff were friendly though and breakfast was nice, but probably wouldn't choose to book here again for the money.

Room was okay, shower could have been better, food wasn't fantastic, a few of the staff seemed a bit disinterested.

My wife and I went for lunch last Saturday and we noticed that there was a large wedding reception, however we were shown to our table and we studied the menu and I decided to have Fish and Chips, it arrived and I noticed that the fish batter was overcooked and I didn?t like the accompaniment of sauce all in all for the price I was very disappointed

Never been inside or stayed at the hotel but it looked like a castle to me and there was a wedding going on at the time so must be popular.
