Had a wonderful holiday with Blake's Coaches.
Rooms: All rooms are clean with a nice shower. TV. Comfortable beds.
Nearby activities: Right in the middle of York town, there are many attractions that you can walk to.
Walkability: Nice walks around York or can take the open top bus.
Food & drinks: Eateries everywhere and many pubs.

We enjoyed Sunday lunch in the restaurant. Our starter of salmon and prawn was very tasty and beautifully presented.
Our main course was roast lamb + trimmings and fillet of haddock with salad all of which was spot on.
Our dessert was chocolate mouse and marmalade B&BP with double cream. Both of these were very nice although I would have preferred custard with the B&BP. I think that there was another dessert that had custard so, to be fair, I'm sure that I could have had custard if I'd asked for it.
Coffee and chocolates in the sun lounge finished off a very nice lunch.
The service, ambience and decor make lunching at this hotel a memorable experience and the Jubilee dining room is very elegant complimented by delightful waiting staff.
This was the latest of many lunches we've enjoyed at the hotel over the years and the standards are as high as they ever were.
First impressions are very important so it's always nice to be greeted by Ray, the charming doorman.
My only criticism, as mentioned on previous visits, is the cost of the drinks...£9 for a small glass of Prosecco is steep.
Overall, however, lunch at the Victoria is a delightful experience and we look forward to many more.

Genuinely if I could give 6 stars for the service I would. You know when you go somewhere and from the moment you arrive you just feel wanted and that your custom is valued...just such a refreshing change after the post covid skills gap in good service. Staff can't do enough for you here and are lovely with it! We had booked a fairly big event which Duncan and the staff executed perfectly. Jessica and Dawn looked after various tasks for us, Head Porter George is a dream and Tony was a well mannered legend on the bar! We'll definitely be back! Outstanding service elevates all aspects of this lovely hotel, which also happens to have breathtaking views, a gorgeous Lido and is just a perfect example of a top class British Hotel!

Spent a week there with friends and all of us agree it was the best hotel we have stayed in ,infact it was absolutely amazing. Cannot find one single thing to complain about .The hotel and its wonderful staff are a credit and should be congratulated for the way they treat and serve there guests ,its a place I will always remember and will definitely return ...excellent.Rooms: Luxurious and spotlessly clean.Food & drinks: Magnificent

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at the Victoria Hotel, overlooking the sea. The service was exceptional, with Aidan being particularly helpful and attentive. The portions are very generous (we couldn?t finish our cakes, delicious as they were), and we chose to stay for some cocktails afterwards. Special mention for the Prince of Wales Cocktail, which perfectly fit the Queen Victoria theme of the hotel. Thank you to all the staff.

Absolutely perfect! Everything about the Brend hotel hits the mark, spot on. As a family we have been coming for Sunday lunch for 70 years (mums longest running).I honestly cannot fault anything about our experiences over the years. The hotel has moved forward with the times but always maintained the perfect balance of service and care we have come to expect here.Even the trainee staff make you feel like royalty and to be honest it's wouldn't be the same experience without them.Keep up the great work everyone ?
