A lovely short break in Sidmouth. After an initial issue we were moved to a lovely courtyard room with a balcony. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and they really made our stay enjoyable.
Breakfast is wonderful, with both continental and cooked breakfast options available.
The spa is nice, although it could do with a little TLC.
The views from the outdoor pool terrace are lovely.
Would recommend.

We had such a lovely weekend away as a pre-wedding break. The hotel is gorgeous and the views are amazing! The hotel is decorated beautifully and the rooms are so stylish. When we arrived we found out that we had been upgraded to a seaview suite and they had left a beautiful chocolate decoration to wish us well for our wedding. They really did go above and beyond! The breakfast is great and the cooked breakfast is very good value and delicious! All the restaurant staff are so friendly and helpful. Couldn't recommend more and we can't wait to come back - thank you!

Stunning spot for an afternoon tea. We dropped in and their afternoon tea was plentiful and delightful! Friendly staff in a super lovely building. Would recommend for anyone looking for a nice place for an arvo tea!

A very nice place which is mostly kept together quite well. A decent bar, good atmosphere, nice facilities. Breakfast? £10 for the full english just not worth it as it?s not composed of good enough quality ingredients and poorly prepared.

Excellent facilities, friendly staff, good location, let down by our room,no air con, and a noisy electric fan for cooling resulting in uncomfortable nights, not 4 Star standard. - we were disappointed.

Just had the most fabulous stay, we enjoyed it so much we booked to stay longer! All the staff were so lovely and helpful- the bar staff were superb (shoutout to Portia and her fabulous cocktail skills) every meal was delicious. And no issue was too large for the reception team. Accessibility wasn?t the best as it wasn?t easy to get into the accessible room due to the slight step in the doorway, the lack of parking also posed some problems as we were often unable to park due to all spaces in use. The only way to get to the outdoor pool is using steps and I do wish there was a ramp somewhere. The positives of this trip outweighed any negatives as we did truly feel at home staying at the harbour in sidmouth. Thankyou so so much for having us, we loved your fantastic crew!

Stayed 9th till 12th August wedding on 10th Tania and Jules.
Well what can I say about the harbour hotel, it's like a lot of places seen some traffic on it's time some knocks and bumps etc. But nothing that detracts from the cool elegance it has like a new England Hamptons resort. The seaside details are beautiful. Room service is lacking toast was soggy and soft boiled eggs were hard, the drinks are define and main meals lush, our wedding breakfast was exquisite all the guests raved about it. But for us what makes the harbour so wonderful is the staff, every single one from cleaning to management is amazing, they go above and beyond for you so you truly do feel like you are important and valued. It becomes a home away from sad and I find myself sad to leave, will definitely stay again and visit for drinks and the spa. Thank you everyone.
Visited again today ( 18.07.24) with the girls for lunch and catch up. Happy for us to sit outside, lovely to have table service and such polite waiting staff. Lunch was yummy and pimms define. Love coming here, thank you again

Took a friend for lunch at the hotel yesterday. The view of the coastline is unbeatable. Sadly, the details of this hotel let it down; it is firmly in the category of ?faded glory?.
The chairs in the dining area are dirty along the tops. Virtually all of them look grubby. The pool is covered with plastic, ruining the photos and general ambiance of the outdoor space. The three large photos adjacent to the dining room were in disrepair, one being quite skewed with its edges torn and crushed. The baseboards look like they haven?t been cleaned in ages, especially in the corners. It?s as if they think people won?t notice, so they haven?t bothered. The waitstaff, although extremely friendly, are poorly trained. No one asked if we took sugar with our coffee, and I had to hunt down someone to bring us ketchup when lunch arrived. The waiter had no idea what was on their club sandwich (the only sandwich available for lunch!), so I can?t imagine he would know anything about allergens either. My friend didn?t fancy tea with her cream tea and asked for a cappuccino instead. ?Oh no, that?s not possible. Sorry, you must order it separately.?
We did order two cream teas for after lunch. They were brought on a single plate with shared jam and cream and no side plates. It was cold by the time we got to it. None of the lunch dishes were cleared away, so we had it at a cluttered table. Lastly, and most idiotic, they have listed afternoon tea on the menu. We tried to order two. Again, ?Sorry, no, you must book an afternoon tea 24 hours in advance.? As someone who was a catering manager for a major organization with responsibility for six restaurants, including two fine dining locations, I can confirm this is ridiculous. The hotel lost money that day due to ill-preparedness. If you can?t serve something immediately, especially something as simple as afternoon tea, get it off the menu. It?s not like the ingredients need to be flown in. There are many ways to make an amazing afternoon tea; I suggest the management pick one that customers can actually access.
On a positive note, again, the staff were very friendly. The chips were well done as requested, the toiletries in the bathrooms smell lovely, and the coffee from the cafetière was good.
In conclusion, the restaurant could be much busier, but the details are letting them down. A thorough clean, proper retraining of the staff, and a laser focus on customer delight is all it would take.

A lovely hotel in a great location. We stayed in a large inland double room which was really nice. Had a great meal in the Upper Decks Restaurant. Visited the Spa and even had a swim in the outside pool. Would love to stay at this hotel again!

Fantastic hotel in an absolutely stunning location. It was a wonderful experience from the moment we entered the front door to be greeted by an amazing smell and friendly and helpful staff. We were shown to our room with the lovely member of staff carrying our bags. The room was fabulous, extremely comfortable beds, lovely balcony with sea views and even complimentary gin and tonic. The facilities were top notch and staff super helpful throughout our stay. Can't wait to come back.

Lunch specials offer 12-3pm 2 courses for £16.95, only on until 28/6/24.The hotel terrace is dog friendly, the restaurants are not, but the staff are very helpful in taking up to the terrace .They were short of staff and meant we had to go inside to the bar and order food and drinks, don't take cash unless you don't want any change so card only, also put service charge on the bill but you can challenge this and take it off the bill . I had flat iron steak, skin on fries, with a delicious peppercorn sauce , my wife had the Smoked tomato, spinach and broad bean gnocchi in a creamy sauce, excellent very tasty.
For dessert, Creme Brulee and Bakewell tart blondie with ice cream yummy, drinks Peroni and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. To cope with the demand Harbour Hotel I suggest you review your training methods for your existing staff and get some new staff, but very enjoyable and something different for the Tourist.

Our meal was divine, such great food - very high quality. The view is insane - honestly exquisite ?
The staff were really lovely and happy to help but service was slow and we had to ask for things we shouldn't have had to ask for.
