Co - what more can I say and a convenience store - does what it says on the time - and a great change not to have self service checkouts but there is not much space to put them really - had all the items I wanted whilst I was self catering for a week in Sidmouth

I've been shopping there for 2 months, and there's such a rude lady there. I hate having to ask for anything if she's alone on the floor..she was so rude today, I returned about £56 of groceries and left my membership card on the counter..I.will never return

The staff were too busy standing around chatting about the weather to be concerned about customers. When I asked a question regarding one of the deals he didn't offer me any assistance whatsoever and walked off. Go to tesco up the road instead. Much friendlier staff and more variety.

This coop is looking very tired and run down. I visited on a bank holiday Sunday (Easter) and it was a bit of a mess. Short staffed so understandable. The layout is a bit muddled and price lables and offers not as clear as they could be. There is a mediocre selection of fresh, tinned and packet food. Household cleaning, alcohol and tobacco all sold here too. Both manned and unmanned tills available. The staff member saw I had cider and came immediately to the till to serve me which was very good of her. Coop just need to put this store at the top of their fefurb list. And employ a couple more staff. Street parking limited. Disabled access. Higher convenient store prices than superstores.

The layout is sub-optimal: newspapers can only be seen on the way out. The manager says there are problems generally with other items and layout, so perhaps there will be a rejigging which means you don't get into trouble for wanting to buy a paper after you've completed all your other purchases. (And if there are irascible people in the queue rather than helpful understanding ones, it can lead to friction!!) I like to support the Coop as I identify with its ideals, but this particular store doesn't make it easy.
