I stayed at the Devil's Stone for one night in early August. It was amazing. Lee and Suzy are two wonderful hosts. The pub has so much character, it was fun to explore. There was a lovely mix of locals and those passing through.
I had a single room that was just what I needed. I had dinner and a cooked breakfast the next morning, both of which I loved. All four of my eggs were double-yolkers!

Really good pub, excellent decor and atmosphere, great food too. We dropped in on our way back from a day out, on the off chance of getting some food. They were very busy, however the landlord managed to fit us in, we ordered the Pie of the day and the Salmon Pancetta, really good home cooked food.
Highly recommend you try this pub, it does get busy so suggest you ring first to avoid disappointment. Look forward to going back soon

We booked inside and took our small dog. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I had a huge Devonshire crab as a starter that was a special, also can be a main, was absolutely delicious. My husband had the pie of the day which was steak and Ale. Again a good portion, very good homemade pie. I Ordered the ploughman's as a main which was also huge and had a good variety of cheese, homemade Scotch egg, slaw ..... I definitely should have just had one of the dishes as you are well fed. A beautiful traditional pub, welcoming, clean and great value for money. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Parking: 12 spaces outside of the pub that are free

Lively Friday evening in the pub with a friendly welcome. Thankfully, given the option of food in the quieter dining area. Prompt, efficient service.
Straight to mains with the Venison Pie accompanied by mash potatoes, and a selection of veg including cabbage, carrots and broccoli. The pie was huge. Everything cooked perfectly.
Grilled Halloumi in Ciabata with coleslaw and fries. Delicious too.
Desserts were both Ice Cream Sundaes, one Strawberry, the other Honeycomb Crunch. Both huge. Both lovely.
Photos don't quite do it justice as couldn't help but start tucking in.

Good pub food, polite and attentive service and a great selection of drinks. It's dog friendly too so all our party was catered for. Come hungry as the portions are substantial.
