Beautiful place, stunning scenery and dogs welcome which was great. The downside was this hotels advertises a a spa, this was a pool only. The sauna was in the changing rooms and wasn?t working, when asked we were told we can turn it on but will take half an hour. Only 4 loungers by the pool and as a family was already there they?re was no where to out your towel down or be able to sit/relax. When we enquired about treatments which are on offer we were advised this wasn?t available, the lady who did this was on maternity leave. If you are looking for a hotel with spa facilities I wouldn?t recommend this, to be honest I think are falsely advertising facilities. Apart from the spa, the hotel, staff and food were great! It is remote so driving is needed to go anywhere for a coffee or drink away from the hotel.

12 of us stayed here for 2 nights & we stayed for an extra night. This is a very special place looking over the sea & cove, with beautiful walks along the SW coastal path. The hotel has a lovely friendly feel to it, as the owners & staff have taken lot of trouble to make sure their guests are welcome & enjoy their stay. The staff were exceptionally good, being very friendly, professional & helpful. The food is also excellent. We ate in for 3 nights & really enjoyed both the generous breakfasts & dinners as well as the drinks that Clive, the sommelier, made for us! The well maintained pool & spa/fitness facilities were good. One of our friends has stayed quite a few times & we will definitely being go back!

Lovely stay in the most beautiful location. Disappointed that the spa was nt open due to staff illness but everybody was lovely friendly, the rooms were immaculate and the food was wonderful. All communication was really helpful too. We were blessed with the weather and it was a real joy walking down the cove and watching the sun rise and set too. from our cove view suite. We were in Jenny Wren which has a double and a single bedplus a little outdoor seating area. And being so close to the cove was wonderful. A little challenging one mile uphill walk coming back (its always easier going down!) but the area looks like a walkers paradise. Used the indoor pool too which was a great start to the day opening at 8am and the seating in the communal lounge was really lovely. Chose this hotel because it is dog friendly but it is so much more than that

We just returned from 3 days at Soar Mill Cove. It truly is a fabulous location, it is super dog friendly which is joyous and above all the food was utterly brilliant (expensive but worth it) and we were served throughout by warm and wonderful staff. However, our room was in serious need of revamp - the beds feel old, the carpets are grubby and the bathroom was downright grotty sadly. It just isn?t 4* level accommodation. Also we discovered only when we phoned up a few days before we travelled that there are currently no spa treatments available due to the hotel being unable to recruit any therapists. This was rather a disappointment to say the least as was a big selling point in booking. We so wanted this to be a place we will come again and again but it would honestly need a bit of a revamp to tempt us back.

This is a lovely calm and welcoming place to be. It was our 3 rd visit and everyone was charming and welcoming. We felt like we were part of a very friendly family! The food was as delicious as ever, very generous portions, which I did not always do justice to them.We very much enjoyed the lovely fish dishes. Also the desserts! Iit was nice to return to the views of the cove and the cliffs. The stars on one of the nights were amazing. Thank you for a great time, and to your excellent team of chefs for lovely food. Also to Matt, Millie, Amanda, and the lovely housekeepers who cleaned our room so nicely. Finally , we really enjoyed Jenny?s gin and tonic. I forgot to buy some, it is delicious We hope to return next year.

We stayed in a cove facing room for 3 nights. The location of this hotel is just superb; a short stroll downhill to a beautiful cove and right on the SW Coastal path. One caveat is that it is a steepish climb back from the cove so you need a modicum of fitness to do so. The hotel itself is wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff at any time. A lot of places profess to being dog friendly, but this hotel really is. There is a smaller dining area for those who don?t like to leave their dog alone in an unfamiliar place, and dogs are welcomed with open arms. We ate at the hotel one evening, and it was very good indeed, as was breakfast each morning.

This Hotel is Superb and really does make you feel like one of their family From the Charasmatic Jonathan right through to the individual people of this well oiled team who run this hotel with a bit of laughter and fun I left my charger back home but they had one I could borrow Anna in the Restaurant team made sure the menu was explained and answered any questions and Max was like a beaver he just popped up when we needed any requirements

Despite the weather being ?slightly inclement? (absolutely heaving down!), a truly wonderful lunch was had today. Marks out of 10? 12 at least. Service (by Amanda) outstanding and food (by Ian) beyond good!! So highly recommended, that everyone should make the effort to visit.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Jonathon, , who was friendly and attentive. He showed us to our room and explained everything we needed to know. Our room was great for us and our dog Archie. It had patio doors leading straight on to the garden. The bed was huge and very comfy. Two armchairs and a small table plus small fridge made it perfect during the Heatwave that occurred during our stay. We ate twice in the restaurant where the food and service were excellent. Amanda who served our Breakfast most mornings, was lovely, she made a fuss of Archie and even showed us photos of her own dog. Jonathon always had a chat or wave when he saw you, and Max who had only just joined the team was a helpful and friendly young man. The outside warm dog shower was fantastic, plus a wash room with washing machines and dryers was a Bonus! Soar Mill cove has a god beach with plenty of space when the tide is out. Less mobile guests may struggle with the return journey. There are amazing walks all from the doorstep. We hope to return one day.

A really lovely week spent at this beautiful hotel on the stunning Devon coast. The staff were amazing; they were wonderful with my elderly mum and neurotic dog especially Amanda.. The breakfasts were amazing, lunches and evening meals were good but expensive. Soar Mill Cove was breathtaking and although it?s National Trust, the remote location made it feel like a private beach although not for the feint hearted as it?s a steep climb back to the hotel. An excellent hotel for families with a lovely salt water indoor pool, tennis court and playground.

Beautiful views and a great location but slightly odd staff, a lady behind the bar with black hair was quite rude and we got completely ignored by others and were left for 10 minutes stood waiting to be shown to our table whilst 3 different members of staff milled around with no customers at all. After that staff were very attentive just didnt understand seeing 5 customers stood waiting and not talking to them at all. Food was really good but menu was limited. Not in a hurry back but lovely place for a drink.

The very first thing to say is how good the staff were - nothing was too much trouble and it felt absolutely genuine - they really wanted to make sure you were happy. (And thanks Clive - those Mai Tai cocktails were great!) We were in a room called Hideaway - a really nice room with views down the hill to the cove. We would pick that room again. The food was excellent and varied. We had the lobster on the last night - it is not cheap but def. worth it. The location is breathtaking - a bit like Dartmoor meets the sea and the cove itself - well you have to go there to see it - we spent our entire break there when we meant to be touring the area. We have already booked a holiday there for next year and with luck, go back sooner!

I would argue the hotel boasts the best view in the south west. Lovely food and great service.
