Ordered breakfast from outside counter. Waitress brought out food and said cutlery was back at counter. In the 5 secs it took, with the waitress present, a seagull stole the food off the plate. The poor review was given as the owner didn?t offer any replacement.
Granted it wasn?t there fault but an attempt to improve the solution would have been appreciated

I had a mid morning bacon sandwich here. Asked for a bacon roll. They dont do rolls.
Sandwich was cheapest white sliced bread, undercooked bacon (also cheapest back). Lady behind the counter sharp to the point of rudeness. And seven quid!
Avoid.

Very average coffee shop with pretty rubbish coffee. Was told I couldn?t have coffee in a cup because they were closing (in an hour) so had to be a take away cup despite sitting in. Run by students without any business acumen and any care towards customer service. The kids running it were turning away customers frequently for silly reasons like not making a table available because they had their own coats and skateboards on it or they had cleaned down the coffee machine (an hour before closing time) on a busy Thursday/Friday. Not recommend as there are plenty of other great coffee shops.

Retracting my previous review , bacon sandwich 7 pounds barely a slice in there. Lady cooking in kitchen screaming ?I?ve put sachets in the box you don?t need the ketchup bottle? - she hadn?t put sachets in. Unfortunately only place open that early in Salcombe.

First time back here for 25 years. Hardly changed at all!
Still a great value breakfast served by a friendly crew.

Coffee was lovely
Milkshake consists of milk from the carton mixed with the syrups for coffee and stirred, not nice at all, and costs £5
Eggs on toast were average to poor taste, especially for the price!
The "American Pancakes" were barely pancakes. They were cold, from a packet opened last week and tasted vile. Do not order the pancakes! They're inedible.
Even giving our order was awkward as the window to order is beside the person making coffee, so ordering one item at a time while the cashier runs back and forth..
Overall, very poor set up, the worst food I've had in a very long time which ended up at £20 a head. Avoid!!

Tried to order a coffee but the service was so slow. The young staff kept looking over my shoulder as if waiting for a friend to show up. When the coffee finally arrived it was below average. The girl hadn?t cleaned the basket from the previous coffee meaning it was bitter and weak.

£9 for a sausage and egg sandwich!! Shocking!!

Ahhh man it pains me to write this one but gotta be honest on it. It used to be superb like really but now it?s just resting on its laurels of location and somewhat, reputation.
The staff are like gen z or whatever and struggle to keep up which could be a training issue, I don?t know.
The food is okay but it?s not good and there are things that just shouldn?t happen like oh we have run out of ketchup like wut just send someone up to the spar to buy some, think!
I had to go to my car to get some packets of ketchup for my son, like seriously lol
It used to be great, the location is still great but the food and service? it?s a gamble.
Maybe try one of the new places on island street and see if they?re better.

Has always been the place for breakfast especially for the locals.
Very disappointing, although eating in tea came in a paper cup because the staff said they didn?t have a suitable cup. Pancakes came, zero presentation just 3 small ones slapped on a plate, crazy considering the price they charge
Great location spoilt by a total lack of love and care and thought. Could be a wonderful experience with an owner who cared
Try the Salcombe Coffee Co. So much better

I'm afraid this cafe is a really overpriced let down in comparison to everywhere we have eaten breakfast in Salcombe and surrounding areas. £44.30 for 2 adults and an 8 year old! Cheap food products, not very well cooked and all served in a rush rush attitude. When I told the all very young and not very bothered staff that the table wasn't clean and had food on it they said "oh dear that's a shame!!" Then I went through 4 or 5 sets of self service cutlery that most definitely had not seen the dishwasher recently! When our food came the £2 mushroom side order was literally 3 mushroom cut in half and the toast was wrong type on all orders. Butter was in the foil wraps and was liquid you may as well poured out of a jug! The £5 milkshake was just watery cheap choc milk in a very small cup and the worst priced I've seen all holiday! Also cant remember the last time I was ever charged for tomato sauce sachets! If you are looking for even a modicum of decent breakfast go and find somewhere else. AVOID!!

Excellent sandwich, prompt service, good coffee.

This place used to be the best breakfast in Salcombe by far, but sadly no more. The hatch service was a back log of people trying to order and those trying to collect their orders. Some of the menu wasn?t available and they had run out of ketchup. Staff were rude when we asked a question. Bacon was under cooked and the bread was thin slices.
