The 5 ? review is for nothing other than exceptional customer service. The prices in this store are through the roof but, when I was stuck in hospital with a phone and no working charger the very kind man serving on this particular day (21/1)25) went above and beyond to help me get exactly the correct type of charger needed.
This on the face of it may seem pretty simple however ~ 80% of the chargers I have at home ( which are USB C as required) do not serve my Pixel 6a 's highly particular charging needs.
The gentleman who served me not only recognized my situation/predicament and was willing to let me try the charger before making my purchase.
After a long and painful 24 hours in hospital this little extra mile went a long way. A*

Mixed experiences involving staff. I have been using the post office side recently and the two staff members have quite different levels of customer service. The gentleman that works there, perhaps the branch manager is friendly, helpful, chatty and nice to interact with. The other small woman with greying hair was abhorrent. No customer service skills at all and quite rude and unpleasant. She also left my package on the counter after the transaction was complete and only picked it up of I'd queried if it would be left there. The other ladies in there are lovely, I don't think they are PO counter staff though

Lovely shop, well stocked, but, my elderly father went to the till with a newspaper and was ignored for a while. When I said "alright dad", the assistant took the papers, scanned them and then looked away. Didn't tell him how much, no please and no thank you. He paid by card and we left. I was shocked at the lack of customer care from this particular lady. I wish I'd taken her name

Lovely little shop with a little bit of everything you could need in a hospital onl on staff member on wich was enough as plenty of service checkouts the member of staff was very friendly full of smiles and happy to help very enjoyable experience especially while in a wheelchair and attached to a cathata anxiety is very server ?. The lovely member of staff helped make my day a little better thank you

Classic WHSmith. Located in the best place possible to be able to exploit customers during the greatest time of need.Like many other Smiths, the prices reflect the lack of competition.The main feature with is the nice and wide store exit to use once you realise the mistake you've made.

I have worked in this hospital for 22 years, and after today I will never, ever set foot in this shop again. I have just tried to buy some food for lunch, and stood in a queue of about 3 or 4. The, I assume new female member of staff was faffing about with the fridge, and although she kept looking at us made no attempt to serve anybody. Eventually she clearly had a hissy fit because she threw down what she was doing and walked to the till, and at the same time announced that she was refusing to serve anybody who had food. I put mine back and walked out because I WILL NOT be forced to use self service checkouts. I loathe and despise them. I really am angry right now, and I`m sure the other reviews mentioning rude staff are talking about the same woman. She is a disgrace, who is going to lose you money, mine for a start.

Absolutely disgusting service by staff....Rude and totally brushed me off. Total rip off with prices! For a shop where patients don't really have a choice other then M&S (which would have been cheaper) you should be ashamed of yourselves!!! Would give you 0 stars if it was an option!
