I am a big fan of Toby Carvery. the food and staff have always been excellent. However, the food has been bland recently, and the place seems to be understaffed, leading to long queues that feel like an eternity, especially with young kids. The constant stream of Deliveroo orders cutting the line seems unfair. they should wait their turn like the rest of us. Felt like I was in macdonalds for a moment. in fact I should have chosen their to eat today!

No table ready when we turned up: asked to get a drink at the bar.
Advised table was ready and ushered over to find table not ready... had to be cleaned.
Given a meager amount of beef. When I asked if that's all you get these days the chef turned to my partner; if you want more meat you only have to ask!
Back to the table and no cutlery. Waitress told me to take it off another table that had drinks on it offering me the excuse that the people had only just gone up for their lunch and wouldn't be back for a while... surely the better move would have been to put cutlery on our table?
No seasoning on the vegetables and lukewarm at best.
Waitress cleared out table but never asked if we enjoyed the meal, simply if we wanted the bill.
Noteworthy details: Poor service, lackluster staff, lukewarm food.

Went there for a meal out like we had done many times before. Was not busy ordered drinks and start, half way through main course we where handed are bill. Without being asked or even asking for it. We had planed on staying for a second drink and dessert but we didn't. May go back or look for somewhere else.

Poor we tried to order food this afternoon but the app wasn't offering meat,we tried to call couldn't get through.ordered via deliveroo at 5.45 and at 7.45 you finally cancel the order after we complained to deliveroo very unhappy with your service you never called to tell us we couldn't have food or even updated us

This eating place used to be a great eating house. We regularly ate there every Friday. After moving I hadn't visited for a while. It was my Birthday last Friday. The Roast Beef was stringy and Gresley. The potatoes were over cooked. The mac and cheese has no cheese and the onion tart was sry and had too much spice in it to compensate for the pie. I'm sorry but I won't be coming back. I didn't even order a dessert as I was too upset.

The staff with the exception of the chef and the female that took our payment were incredibly rude and unenthusiastic. I totally understand it?s busy, but a smile wouldn?t have gone a miss. Totally unorganised. Food was okay, gravy was a little thin but potatoes were grand.
