Great wines, (and port) the service was personable and shared wisdom in an inclusive way without pressure.
When you eat here you really feel like a guest from the moment you arrive.

We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Artillery Tower and had a truly amazing experience. We arrived about half an hour early for our reservation and were warmly welcomed and offered drinks while we waited. The gentleman who looked after us was very professional and took the time to explain everything, which we really appreciated as it was our first visit.
The food was absolutely lovely ? a big thank you to the chef and all the staff who served us. We enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, and every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The whole evening felt special and memorable.
We?re already looking forward to coming back again soon to try more of the menu. A big thank you from both of us ?

The food was scrumptious. Loved the starters and entrees. Shared the scallops on pork belly, crab and avocado salad, John Dory fish and duck breast with my niece. It?s on the top 2 list for Plymouth in my opinion, the other place being Acleaf. The server, Fabio, was top notch! Knows his wines very well and how to pour properly! Has a great personality. Lovely place in historic atmospheric Tudor building with views over Firestone Bay beach Drakes Island and Mt Edgecumb, Simple unfussy quality seasonal food with a running theme of rosemary and roasted garlic for first day of summer. The menu was stripped back as was the great wine list at all levels and reasonably priced. Every course was economical and faultlessly unflashy, same goes for relaxed unobtrusive service, highly recommend.

I booked a meal for my anniversary with my partner and the day before she had emergency dental work. I contacted the restaurant as soon as I could to say we?d like to reschedule and because it is within the 48 hour notice, they wouldn?t let us reschedule and took £60 from my account. The owner?s attitude was dreadful on the phone when I tried to explain so I won?t be rebooking.

HIDDEN GEM - We were lucky enough to book a family celebration meal here. This is a small intimatre restaurant which cannot be bettered. It feels like you are being treated to a private dining experience, indeed the chef/ owner came to our table at the end of our meal to chat to us. The food is outstanding with everything cooked from scratch including their breads and ice cream. The duck was perfect as were the scallops and almond tart was very special. The building is also beautiful.

One of the best restaurants we've ever been, in a quiet & almost like secret place. Food was great & served in perfection. The chef was brilliant, he came out & talked to all customers too before leaving, also Fabio (waiting staff) was brilliant. We enjoyed the ambience and will definitely dine with them again.
