First visited this pub on the evening of the of 30/09/24 and I felt like I was transported back to a better time when people were actually genuine. The young ladies behind the bar are so genuine towards the clientele. Friendly but not over familiar they have a rapport with the customers and I get the impression that they are indispensable to this establishment. City pubs as they should be!

Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. I had an absolutely delicious Lasagne, cooked to perfection. Non alcoholic beers and ciders available.

The pub is excellent but the experience is made all the better by the staff. Katie served me on this occasion and she was amazing. She has the best sense of humour along with being proactive and very personable. She made me feel very welcome and like I was a regular even though I rarely go in there. Well worth a visit and if you get served by Katie you will have an even better time.

Situated at bottom of city centre in behind royal parade. Been there for as long as I can remember. Old style British pub with good selection of wines, spirits and beers. It does serve beverages to. A menu of pub food from full English to fish and chips and curries. I had a full English which was ok. And reasonably priced to. You can get a larger one at an extra cost. Service was good and with a smile. Something you don't get much of these days. It's a reasonable sized pub with a lot of seating. It is fairly clean on tables. But when you walk in you do get a strong smell of stale drink and dare I say it pee. Well that's what I thought I could smell. It's a well used pub and has its regulars. Toilets are average and do have a little smell to them. It's easily accessed if your disabled. But it's a city centre so parking is done in local car parks. It's a place you could visit have a drink and a bite at a reasonable cost. I have used in the past and probs will use again.

Good food for a good price. Lots of vegetarian & vegan options too. Puddings were a slight let down choice wise but the wide range on the main menu made up for that.
Great service and no long wait times. I was able to order via the app sat at my table, which suited me as I have limited mobility (you can also order at the till if preferred).
Will definitely go back again!

I use this pub frequently, it's great for sports watching it can show upto 3 different events at once. The food is great for the price never had a bad meal . Gets busy on the weekends or big sports days but you can book a table, the staff are friendly ..I like this pub a lot

Had a lovely evening meal. Service was excellent and the staff, in particular Ellie, was very helpfully. We enjoyed it so much that we will definitely be back. Good portions, and a wide range of choice for all types of eaters. A great place for all ages.
