Great place for breakfast or lunch on the fifth floor

I am on the lookout for a classic outfit for a wedding. Such a disappointing ladies fashion department. Chaotic, misleading banner boards on departments. Low stock levels, low variety of brands offering more formal/ocassion wear.
I honestly thought this would be my go to store for quality and choice.
Hugely disappointed.

Had exactly what I wanted (and in the sale!)
Friendly professional service. Exactly what you don't get online. Only wish they had a store nearer to home

Came out of lift on 4th floor and was dark looking with lights dimmed (probably to save on energy) and hit with an array of boring dark colours which were hard to distinguish style and design as hard to see with poor lighting.

Absolutely disgusted with the House Of Fraser Plymouth! I've been a customer for many years and spent an awful lot of money in this store.
My experience follows... I purchased a expensive t-shirt without trying it on in store and took it home only to find its the wrong size. The next day I went back to the Plymouth store and explained to the lady behind the till that unfortunately the t-shirt was not suitable and asked for a refund. She was absolutely rude and abrupt towards me and refused to give me a refund stating it is against store policy! She offered a credit note which I did not want. She was adamant that no refund will be given!
I asked for her name and she said she was called Tina. I said that I am not happy with not being able to get a refund and would take it further. She really couldn't care less and again was very rude and said do what you like! Horrible experience! I wish I had never purchased the designer t-shirt the day before.
I have never come across a store or company that wouldn't refund the customer. Even Tesco's refund their customers if they returned goods they are not happy with so why can't the House Of Fraser? It seems all they are interested in is getting hold of your money and not returning it - almost as if the company is on the brink of collapse!
I returned again this time with a colleague because he couldn't believe that they wouldn't give a refund. This time we spoke to Colin a manager (He was polite and professional) Colin explained the situation about the store policy and it was non negotiable and no refund will be offered. He said as line manager he will look into the way Tina treated me in the morning when I first went in for the refund - but not holding my breath that anything will be done!
The whole experience here was probably the worst I've ever experienced in trying to return an item which was not suitable for a refund!
They've certainly lost my custom and my family's custom too... I will not be recommending the House Of Fraser to anyone...
I wonder just how many customers are aware of their returns policy?
There's a small notice on the entrance door on the lower left hand side which is difficult to read as you enter the building. Also pointed out to me by the very rude Tina there's a small notice on the till desk which is easily covered over!
All in all this is a company to avoid! I've personally never had an issue with any other company or store in the past regarding a refund!
If a company like the House Of Fraser and it's associates cannot offer a reasonable returns policy that gives you a full refund when returning a unstable item, then there's something very wrong! Once you've cash has entered the tills within the House Of Fraser and it's associates it's non returnable as stated on the receipt they give you due to the transaction being completed. (They will give you a replacement item or a credit note but NOT a full refund). All this company is interested is getting hold of your money and keeping it!
Again I would strongly recommend that you avoid companies like the House Of Fraser and it's associated companies due to there unreasonable returns policy! There's plenty of good reputable and very honest companies out there that will have no hesitation in refunding you in full because they have a decent and fair returns policy in operating for there customers.

I always head towards this shop when I visit Plymouth. I bought my son a few outfits and shoes. The ladies were very helpful with ideas for waterproof spray for my sobs boots and we exchanged small talk. I was offered a chance to become a Fraser member, which was nice. I'll be back in September

Went here yesterday to have a look around with my friend. She has autism and is on several medications, and has a concussion which made her feel awfully unwell which made her pass out on a bed, a female staff member approached her and said to get off the bed in a rude and unkind tone, my friend then replied that she would after she felt ok to stand up, the lady then replied ?don?t give me attitude? and started to raise her voice. Another lady then approached my friend and started to tell her to get off the bed as well. My friend was still not feeling well enough to stand up so they called 2 security guards, who rudely told my friend to get up, I told them that she has a concussion and has been blacking out all day and is really not well and they continued to be rude. But this isn?t the only problem there has been numerous occasions that myself and my friend have been followed around by security guards for no given reason, and been spoken to very disrespectfully by staff. Do not recommend

Really great place for clothes shopping, for men, women and kids (and probably all the other varieties these days). They have good selection of labels at reasonable prices, can usually find something you like.

I always go to Dingles for food and coffee when I come to Plymouth. They do a great breakfast and fish and chips. You get fantastic views of the city from the restaurant on the top floor, nice to enjoy a coffee with a view! I love the traditional department store over the shopping mall, and its not so busy. There is also a lovely coffee shop on the ground floor.
