Fantastic friendly staff, quick service & sell almost everything you need from tents to fishing gear. Well worth getting the discount card, easily make your money back. They also do millitary discount on top of the discount card. Well worth a visit have a nice selection of coats, foot wear & clothes.

Helpful staff as always, ever since jd sport took over there is very little stock of sizes and normally only offer 1 length in trousers etc.
This last visit huge ladies sale rail covering more than 4 rails, eventually found mens and not even 1 rail.
Still a good place for outdoor equipment though.

Half the Manufacturer's Warranty
Purchased a pair Scarpa Cyrus GTX walking shoes in March 2023 online. Scarpe, as a premium priced brand offer a standard 2 year warranty. One shoe has just lost its waterproof integrity. Telephoned customer service, who having examined my purchase order, told me to take the shoes to a store for them to be examined. Nearest store to me is Plymouth and as it's a 50 mile round trip for me, I telephoned the store and spoke to Sam who told me that the warranty should be fine and to bring the shoes in to speak to a manager. Visited the store the following day and, in a nutshell was somewhat abruptly told that they only provide a 12 month warranty and to contact Scarpa. I was none too pleased to a.) Have wasted time and petrol money to make a wasted trip and b.) to be told that Go Outdoors had sold me a premium product at a premium price but with only half the manufacturer's warranty. I turned to leave and was then told to "have a nice rest of the day". Absolutely disgusted.

Popped in today, what a joke.
Some enthusiastic staff would do some wonders for this place.
Sales assistant/ sales specialist or what ever your title is... enquired to see if they have some walking shoes. Staff member told me on the other side of the rack, fair enough... maybe try selling something to your potential customers ? never asked anything about what we wanted! Company lost a sale...
Maybe ask the customer things like what size do you require? (Measure if they don't know) What activity do you intend doing? What colour? How much were you wanting to spend? And then show your potential customer what options there are!
Seriously if you don't like your job? or have zero enthusiasm? Step aside and let your role open up to someone who would love to do your job, who has a genuine passion for outdoor activities, evidently you don't!

Went to pick up my order, went to the tills only to find I had to go to the back of the store to collect it, I rung the bell 3 times and eventually someone strolled up to the counter then informed me that there was no order asked what I ordered and went searching and found a pair of shoes and hoped it was mine which it was, I went to pay as there was a till but was told to pay at the front of the store so I then had to go across the store to que up again and when I went to pay they tried to over charge me by removing the discount, not a good customer service.

What a gret place if your looking to buy some outdoor clothing and footwear. They have everything you require for that adventure whether it be hiking, walking ,climbing ,camping, cycling, or what your thing is here at Go outdoors the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the items you might be looking to purchase.
