Because it?s a large chain company obviously corporate want profit over anything else and so especially in this story it depends on the day and the worker whether you get good service or shitty service. I would highly recommend especially for servicing and repairs going to Bikespace which is a bike shop in devonport not too far off the beaten path.

Reviews for Google - Evans for Rit our repairman.
Excellent and very professional welcome by Rit. Our tandem needed a repair for the disc brake (rear wheel). Very quickly, Rit realised our need. He gave us r-v 30 minutes later. Again, professional gesture to find out if we were OK with his choices for the (veiled) disc, namely to change it for another range. Perfect adjustment then, with force comments to make sure we understand the problem and how to solve it. Thank you very much, Rit, for this professional work.

Visited last week to ask if they?d service two e-bikes, they run off Yamaha so I was told they couldn?t service the electrical side of things, which is fine and a expected this, hence why I visited to ask.
They did say they could do mechanics etc and I could book online. Which is all we wanted. They both need new brakes and one needs a new tyre. Plus we would?ve got more work done if needed as we use them every day.
Booked them both in for today, brought them into town, and when we got there we were told they don?t even touch bikes that run off Yamaha, at all. Despite being told prior that they would.

The evans cycle team in plymouth have been absolutely fantastic. Had a complicated fix needing doing and the team were brilliant. Keeping me in the loop, going above and beyond and than offering a very reasonable price all things considered. Thanks a lot

Be very clear when you buy a bike, how long will you have parts for? What exactly does the warranty cover? If the bike starts to fall apart after a week give it back to them. Tell them it?s not fit for purpose. If that creaking crank is not covered by the warranty and they can?t fix it then they will try and make it your problem. Take notes, keep records of everything because you might need them later.

Purchased an E-bike from Evans Cycles through CycleScheme. Jon was really helpful and spent around an hour helping me choose accessories to go with it. I picked my bike up yesterday and so far so good.

Very disappointed having read good reviews on Google. Had we seen the appalling reviews on trust pilot we might have avoided.
Firstly the bike we ordered from Evans? website never arrived - no explanation, just ?returned to sender? before it reached us. We tried ordering a second bike from Evans, this time through Sports Direct. Again, returned to sender with no explanation.
Deciding it must be a courier issue, we ordered a 3rd bike on the Evans website and opted to collect in store. This involved an 80 mile round trip but by this point we had promised the bike and needed to deliver!
Despite Evans tracking saying ?awaiting courier pick up? the courier announced it had arrived in store so we called ahead and were told we could collect it. They offered to ?build? it, which seemed to involve attaching the wrong pedals and straightening the handle bars. This cost £25 and, as evidenced by the photo?s, resulted in cheap plastic pedals (not the metal pinnacle hybrid pedals advertised) and lots of scratches.
I am embarrassed to gift this, however I am also very reluctant to return it as I might never get another one!

I have been using Evans in Plymouth now for over twenty years, and, no matter about the change of location and staff, the service has always been excellent. Recently, I had a tyre valve issue whilst out riding, and just managed to make it to Evans on a near flat. The guys at Evans, spent time working out the problem, and then fixed it there and then. I was able to continue my ride without any hassle.
This is nothing new from the guys in Evans of Plymouth, and the high quality service is something that is part of their USP.
There are other bike shops, but Evans is still the most consistent for a high quality of work and customer service.

Rit was outstanding! He was super helpful when things went wrong with my partners bike. He explained what the issue was, fixed it quickly, and even took the time to teach me step by step how to do it myself for next time. Amazing customer service, thanks Rit!

Thank you to John, Rit & Zach who made the experience of ?big kid bike? purchasing so lovely! They took the time to correctly measure our little one ensuring the bike we chose for her birthday was the right size for her. The bike itself is super lightweight compared to ?toy shop? brands and was a great price too!

I went in the Plymouth Branch as my tyres were a little low and although I hadn't booked in and Rit was very busy, he took the time to help me, he put air in my tyres and also sorted out the angle of my seat as well as the height, great service, highly recommend the store and Rit.

Had a cable shred itself during a long ride home, This was the only bike shop open on a Sunday and I was so impressed and thankful to get a new cable and such a quick turn around!! ?pedalled the last 40 miles home with perfect indexed gears! Def recommend these guys, Thank you ?
