I don?t often write reviews but thought I had to. There were some guys that were being too much and not leaving me alone. Shaun was so nice and really helped resolve the situation. He made me feel secure and safe. Such a great bloke to have around.

Situated at the top of royal parade shop side. A very spacious pub. A reasonable selection of pub style food. Offering taste for most pallets from light bites to main meals and desserts. I had a full English Breakfast which was good. There is a large selection of drinks from beers to spirits, cocktails to cocktails. Also a selection of beverages, coffees of various sorts and teas also hot chocolate. It's quite clean considering it gets a lot of use. There is disabled access but parking is in muti story or paid street parking. Toilets are ok for the size of the pub. Prices are reasonable for its city centre position. On the main shopping area and close to the barbican and the Hoe. I will use again and it's worth a visit. Lively at weekends. I have altered my star rating as I made a mistake. Should have been 4 not 3 stars. Appologies to brass monkey
Parking: It's main city centre so multi story and paid street parking.

Popped in here today for lunch on passing during a day trip to Plymouth, never been before.
Looking at the reviews now I am surprised they are good so I don't know if we just got an off day, but the food was horrendous!
My daughter had an all day breakfast, the mushrooms looked like they had been reheated multiple times, were tiny and crinkly, the baked beans were dry as anything, the bacon was rock solid, the toast was very dry, the whole meal was 100% not freshly cooked, like there was no care put into the meal at all, just chucked onto a plate and microwaved.
Mine and my sons chips were barely warm and the burgers looked really thrown together with the thinnest burger pattys. My daughter left majority of her meal. Paying £40 for 3 meals I expected better.
Also I only saw 2 workers but both didn't crack the slightest smile when ordering/delivering food/drinks, there was no friendly feel from them at all.
I would definitely not recommend after today's experience and definitely won't return!

After having lunch today, all I can say is, the short grey/white haired german gentleman that served me went above and beyond in their role.
He made sure my visit was extremely pleasurable. I would definitely recommend visiting on Tuesdays and Thursdays if you want the best service, from this short fellow.
His English is perfect, except for the word screw, which he butchered, but we had a laugh.
I will definitely be back on Tuesday and Thursday

We recently had the pleasure of enjoying a lunch and drinks at Brass Monkey. We were served by Anke, and it was nothing short of excellent. The atmosphere was great. All the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, but especially Anke as she made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal and checked in throughout. The selection of drinks was impressive, with a range of ales, wines, and classic pub favourites with some drinks recommended by Anke. Everything about our visit was spot on, from the service to the ambiance and, of course, the amazing Anke. We need more people like Anke.

Im not sure what im expecting when i came sticky tabled pub (reduce your chemical usage will get rid of that stick to water for bit)
Food was cold and burnt which well the chefs got talent to get done overall alright but very much cheap grub not worth the cheapness
Only visiting so ill let u decide :p

After taking my daughter of two weeks old out for her first outing the waitress judged our parenting saying ? why would you take her out somewhere with germs?. My partner got very upset thinking she was a bad parent (baring in mind it?s our first time out of the house) and I dragged her out to save her making herself feel bad stuck in the house. And secondly if she took the time to clean the table maybe us being sat as far away from anyone else in the corner wouldn?t be at risk of any germs
