We had the most wonderful meal at TJ's on our summer getaway. The waitress, Helen, was very accommodating when we asked to sit on the balcony even though we had not reserved a seat outside.
The views were stunning across the harbour. Service was excellent, Helen was so friendly and chatty.
The food was incredible, not a bad word to say about any of it. We had the scallops, calamari & mushrooms to start, mussels & steak for the main.
Would highly recommend and will definitely return in the future.

Wow what a great find. From the outside you may be forgiven for walking by but dont! As the food was awesome. Had port & stilton mushrooms to start & spaghetti in cream & white wine sauce with mussels, king prawns & fillets of sea bass on the top?? the best pasta dish I have ever had but just so sad I was too full to eat it all.

We eat in paignton every week for many years. Never tried here. We decided on a change as sun was still on the front at 8PM and booked a table. We was amazed when we went in on the size of the place, looks small from oust side but plenty of tables and a lovely balcony over looking the harbour. Staff lovely and the food the best food we had in paignton brixham or torquay. Just great all round restaurant. Would highly recommend from us foodies.

Everything was absolutely shocking about this place. The service, the food and just the whole experience. Three members of staff working and none of them had a clue what they were doing. The steak was overcooked and cold, the peppercorn sauce was like water and the chips were frozen!!! If I'm paying £26 for a steak, I at least expect homemade chips. There was at least 30 minutes between courses, I still gldone know where the mustard is that I asked for and we had to ask for the bill three times!!! Won't be visiting this place again.

Limited menu choices. Disappointing food, prepared by someone who doesn't taste it and probably wouldn't eat it. Frozen fish, chewy vegetables. Very poor desert menu. Great view, good wine choices, but I wouldn't visit again.

They had a bit of a mare with the fish delivery yesterday, it was not up to their usual great standards so the rejected shoddy half of it this meant they were short for Friday night service. It was busy and the 2 service staff did all they could. The food was 1st class once it eventually arrived! We had cod instead of the sea bass which was finished. Beautifully cooked and the veg was also delicious. They tried hard in difficult circumstances so cannot mark them down for this.

Unfortunately it took 45 minutes to get our first drinks then another 20 minutes for the starters to arrive. The hake was awesome but don?t bother to order the Brie and fig tart, you?ll struggle to find any brie. The herb crusted cod was lovely but the salmon with croquettes on the bed of broccoli lacked a single croquette or broccoli for that matter. What a shame, the potential is great just lacks delivery. The whole experience was pretty poor. We were offered a discount which on paying was not what we?d been told. Disappointed.
