Advanced booked 90th birthday afternoon tea to include guests from Texas, LA, London and Torbay. From the get go they were totally disorganised. Asked for reassurance everything would be ok they said yes. Upon arrival we were put in a room off the bar, furniture all over the place. Finally got someone to present the room in a more social arrangement. Food basic and just left on a poorly laid linen cloth. Everytime we asked for anything to be addressed it was done as an inconvenience. Totally unacceptable, final straw asked if we could have something to wrap the remaining birthday cake in and they didn?t have anything other than a large cardboard box!! Would not recommend

Lovely decor, stunning paintings strewn across the walls... The staff were very friendly and capable. In the restaurant, the music and conversation around wasn't too loud and the atmosphere was pleasant. They definitely were giving luxury. My only qualm would be regarding the meat (the pork was a bit dry with soggy crackling; the beef was very chewy and cut along the grain) and the yorkshires (burned). But the veg was lovely, the puddings and starters were all delicious!
I can recommend the bar especially - mainly for the nice vibes, good decor and friendly staff. We didn't stay the night, so I've not given many stars for rooms as we didn't see them!
Nearby activities: Vue cinema and mini golf right near by
Walkability: Easy to walk into town from here
Food and drinks: Drinks, starters and puddings were great but I think the mains could do with some improvement.
Noteworthy details: Great view of the sea. Plenty of parking available (3h slots with sign in at the reception)

Room was very cold on arrival, as the radiators didn't work, given extra heater after complaining.. which then we couldn't use as the wall plug was broken ! And coulnd safely use in another plug overnight due to location of the heater. Ventilation fan in bathroom didn't work and the shower either was absolutely scolding or freezing cold.. and food was very small portions. ( very tasty though ) but After a 3 course.. we all went out for a walk after dinner and ended up buying pizza. Shame as the hotel is lovely.

Nothing bad to say about the hotel, Except the breakfast was shockingly below average. Over £13 for a sub standard breakfast which was paltry and overcooked. Judging from the breakfast we decided to skip the lunch and dinner menus as they appeared expensive and once bitten...
Noteworthy details: Lovely staff!

The hotel is a bit old fashioned in a way, however we kind of looked for that. We enjoyed teatime in the restaurant.
The combination of virtually no insulation and noisy motorcycles at around 9pm was a bit disturbing but came to an end soon.
Rooms generally well equipped and the staff is trying to help where need might be.
We generally enjoyed the service minded friendly staff.
Rooms: Rooms are a bit old fashioned, however comfortable and we had the promised sea view.
Walkability: The Pier

My 4th time staying here, BUT, as usual, total inconsiderate, selfish or just thick, guests, slamming the doors shut. They soft close on their own, then just pull gently to check, not SLAM it shut. You are not the only people staying. And remember it wherever you stay.
Because you spoil staying anywhere, for everyone.
Rooms: As above, slamming doors are a real pain. Rooms are clean.

This is only for the spa and not the hotel.
Miserable staff on the Gemini reception (Shannon )
Always looks angry when you go in ,like a rottweiler on guard.
Otherwise the beauticians are quite nice and professional.
