Probably like most people coming up to retirement age I found trying to chose my pension options very scary and confusing . I had sort of assumed, until fairly recently, that you paid into a scheme and it paid out money automatically when you retired, but no! I went through the Government's pension advisory scheme, but really you need a degree in finance to understand all the options properly, and sometimes the options seem to contradict each other.My next step was to look online for an independent company specialising in financial advice (recommended by the pension advisory scheme), which is how I was contacted by Maskery. Within a few days I received a visit, in person, from a very easy to talk to and, even better, understand, adviser who explained various options at length. I knew more or less what I wanted and Matthew, my advisor, explained how it could be achieved; he also kept me updated with what was happening throughout.The service I have received has been easy to understand, and I am very impressed, thank you.
