Lovely clean hotel and perfect for our stay. The only reason I have given a low rating is I still haven't had my £100 damages bond back even after 2 emails. There was definitely no damage so not sure why.

A very friendly hotel run by a husband and wife team. The room was extremely well appointed with a magnificent view over Torbay. The rom even had a pair of binoculars for viewing the Bay. A generous breakfast was provided.

Just returned from 2 nights on a work trip. As a solo guest I was very impressed by the way owners Pete and Ruth go out their way to make you feel very welcome and comfortable. The hotel has a fantastic decor and layout and location is fab for the beach and town. Loved my stay.

Loved our stay at the Channel View. Highley recommend the sea view rooms, the breathtaking morning views reallu made our stay. The hotel is immaculate, rooms cleaned and tea and coffee replenished day! The breakfast, especially the scrambled eggs, was delicious. The friendly atmosphere is who really made our stay! Friendly and knowledgable of the local areas, full or recommendations! Can not wait to return!

Had lovely weekend here with 12 friends to celebrate my birthday. Peter and Ruth made us really welcome, they were really knowledgeable on where to visit, best places to eat etc. Lovely choice of breakfast that had to be ordered the night before. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The linen was of the highest quality. Would highly recommend.

Had a great stay here, the room overlooking the sea was very clean and the shower/toilet was very clean and modern, we had had a great view with the sound of the waves to wake up to, , , the host was great and the breakfast was one of the best I?ve had staying in a B&B, the hotel has off road parking and is a 10 minute walk from the pier so you have no evening noise but not to far from the attractions, would definitely recommend to everyone wanting a place to stay in Paignton and would definitely return.

Nice location just out of the town centre (about a 15 minute walk) and paid for a room overlooking the sea. The beach is gorgeous, lovely red sand and not very crowded. Peter was very helpful and knowledgeable on things to do around the area and was very helpful with suggestions of places to eat. However, we don't feel we got what we paid for sadly; it felt more like an expensive BnB rather than the Boutique hotel it is advertised as. 1) The size of the sink and the shower - very small, especially the sink, and not very functional. 2) No lunch or dinner options, despite advertising a Bistro (apparently they are trying to find a chef) - but you are unable to bring anything in to eat, even in the breakfast area, and if you do the paperwork states you will be asked to leave. Not very nice when you want a sandwich for lunch and have to sit in your car to eat it because the rain is hammering down. I appreciate not having hot food in the rooms, that is more than acceptable, but to not be able to use the eating facilities when they are unable to provide these meals for you seems a bit extreme. They are not loosing revenue. 3) Breakfast time runs from 8-9 am, not very accommodating when you are on a much needed holiday and hoping to get a bit of a lie in. I appreciate this is a "family run hotel" but not much flexibility around the guests we felt. 4) You have to complete a breakfast form the night before for what you want for breakfast the following day. BE WARNED - unless you ask for more than 1 of anything, 1 comes as standard. One couple only had one form and the order was confusing but it meant they were asked if they wanted to split the sausage between them and have it cut in half!!! For the price of the hotel, surely they could stretch to getting another sausage? 5) Reading the paperwork, all the rules and regulations felt a bit "Boarding School". Don't do this, don't do that. We found it rather patronising, given it is an adult only hotel. One of the rules is about soiling linen and towels. Given you need to use these, they will naturally be soiled - the rules just seem over excessive. The place is nice, but we were disappointed for the price we paid and what we actually got.

We had a wonderful few nights at the Channel View Hotel. The rooms were well designed, immaculately clean and the owners were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a quiet location, I even spotted dolphins in the bay with the binoculars that were thoughtfully provided in the room.

Would highly recommend a stay at the Channel View Boutique Hotel. A lovely hotel owned by Peter & Ruth. We were greeted with a warm welcome by Peter. Our room had a stunning view of the sea woken up with a fresh breeze. Immaculately clean & comfortable room and the facilities, a little on the compact side, but didn?t really matter, as our stay was extremely enjoyable. Attention to detail was throughout the place along with the owners, as they were fourth-coming with our requirements Good knowledge of the area. Peter recommended places to visit when asked, definitely made the break worthwhile. Would certainly come back. Thank you Peter & Ruth ??? P & S

I stayed here in a lovely Twin Room with my grown up daughter. It was a wonderful and spacious room. Very snazzy bathroom! From the warm welcome, to the delicious breakfasts (we loved the smoothies) nothing was too much trouble. We walked into Paignton each day and even went on a steam train and boat to Dartmouth. They can cater for vegans too. The view from the breakfast room is stunning - you can eat outside on the terrace if the weather is nice. They work so hard to make this such a awesome place to stay. It?s top quality. We hope to return. Thank you for being so kind to us and making our mini break so special.

Wonderful welcome on arrival. Peter and Ruth really care about their visitors well being when staying at their elegant adults only hotel. We were in awe from the minute we walked into Channel View. We were lucky to book one of the junior suites overlooking the Channel. The decor was up to a fabulous standard. The chandelier was exquisite and the bed was comfy with crisp linen. We felt we were in the lap of luxury throughout the holiday. We had plenty of room to park and ours is a big car. Breakfast was well presented and tasty. The bar was well stocked and also gave a good variety of alcohol free drinks. Thanks Peter and Ruth. We will return

Very very clean, attention to detail was very clear to see, loved the view, the bed was very comfy, pillows were good also. Was disappointed they were unable to do evening meals. Smoothies and breakfast was good.

Highly recommended A big thankyou to Peter and Ruth for a great week, received a lovely welcome, showed my room, access to free wi-fi, hotel lovely and secure as key fobs needed to access so everything safe. Slightly out of town for a quieter night. Accommodation was great, great views of sea/beach only a little walk to get to the seafront area, clean, tidy and obviously you?ll notice how well it is kept. Breakfast was fab all week, especially their own fresh Smoothies excellent, and nothing was too much trouble, great suggestions on places to go. will definitely return. Simon

We have just arrived back home from a 2 day break away, and I?m excited to tell you about the most beautiful boutique Hotel right on the sea front. The Channel View Hotel. What a find! From the warm welcome by Peter and Ruth, the exquisitely appointed and furnished rooms with cleanliness and comfort a top priority. The Breakfasts were top notch and set us up for a day?s exploration of this beautiful part of the southwest coast. TBH I can only offer Peter and Ruth our huge congratulations for all the hard work and the huge labour of love seen all over the Channel View Hotel. Book it! You?ll be glad you did!
