The staff make this place, not a self checkout fan, you think it's going to be quicker but the scanner won't scare, remove last item and an assortment is coming

Great local store. It has a limited range of products in some areas. Alternative brand choices offer an excellent combination of price and quality (I prefer their own brand fruit and nut chocolate to another well-known brand)

ALDI Newton abbot is very well designed & organised. Wide aisles, good chiller cabinets, a big range, great quality own brands (with strange brand names - don?t let that put you off) & most importantly the staff are very polite & friendly, unlike a competitor firm where staff do not seem to believe their work involves interaction with customers. ALDI staff do not treat customers as if they?re an inconvenience or unnecessary, and shopping at ALDI Newton Abbot is a pleasant & stress free experience. Coming away having saved almost 40% on my shopping bill is a definite plus. When one can save money like that, it?s worth going the extra mile or two to ALDI, even if it?s slightly off your normal grocery run. I plan my run to always start with ALDI, and leave what I cannot get there to the next cheapest, maybe ASDA who have themselves upped their game considerably over recent times. Unfortunate there are things I cannot get without going to Sainsbury?s, but you?ll be surprised how few they are. I think you?ll like ALDI Newton Abbot and recommend you try it the next time you?re passing Brunel Road, Newton Abbot.

Shelves almost empty

Generally very good. However, the beef fillet steaks are second rate. The steaks look good when I purchase them. However, when the package is opened a lot of fat and sinew is generally present hidden beneath. I will be buying from Tesco in future and having to pay the extra 50p. but it will be worth it. This minor irritation will not stop me from regularly visiting Aldi for essentials.
