Popped in yesterday. Absolutely fantastic food, the sausage and onion baguette was very tasty, with good quality sausages. Ale was lovely and everything was reasonably priced. Lovely traditional pub with a sporting feel which unfortunately seems to be harder to find nowadays. A real gem in the middle of real countryside. I'll deffinately be coming back

The Fox & Hounds Hotel & Restaurant offers a delightful pub food experience with a cosy ambiance and friendly service. The menu features a variety of classic pub favourites executed with a modern twist.

Popped in here for a long-awaited lunch. One of the only places around that served food all day. Basic pub food but actually fit the bill perfectly after a wet hike. Staff and food preparation were amazingly efficient, we'd finished eating within 30 mins of arriving! Can't comment on the hotel rooms.

Called in here after a hike on Dartmoor, was hoping to get a full meal as the large sign on the side of the pub says in red writing ?food served all day? When we went in and asked for a menu, turns out food doesn?t start until 1800. Fair enough but then don?t have signs outside saying it?s served all day.Had some crisps and a drink along with a slice of Guinness cake, didn?t think much to the cake. The pub has a lovely atmosphere, log fires ? alight in the bars and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Then menu looked great, shame we missed out!Dogs are allowed inside which is a big plus, dog water bowl also available.

Stayed 3 nights over the weekend and had a great time. Food and service is fantastic, everyone was so friendly. Rooms are lovely, we had the family room which was very spacious. Could hear some laughter every now and again from the pub below on one night but our white noise machine drowned it out easily and it didn?t last long.My daughter also loved the cows in the field next to the car park!

I stayed at the Fox and Hounds for two nights recently. The hotel rooms are quite dated and the TV is minute, however this is more than made up for by the lovely staff and really good service with a smile. The price for bed and breakfast is also very pocket friendly. The food generally was acceptable, but the breakfasts were very good indeed. One of the most endearing aspects to this hotel is that it is so dog friendly. Dogs were positively welcomed, with dog treats in the passage outside the bedrooms. As a dog person I loved that!

Came up as somewhere to camp, it has hook up points dotted around. Literally just a field.Fine if you just want to get your head down somewhere but not somewhere you'd want to enjoy a camping experience. There is 2 toilets and 1 shower for each sex. There is no lock on the shower just as a curtain which didn't feel great. It was £25 for the night with hook up which we found to be quite steep considering other campsites we've stayed in with nicer facilities

I decided to stop here for 2 nights camping, en route home after a 1 week wild camping 'exped'. The small campsite at the rear of the pub was clean, quiet and nicely kept. The toilet n shower block was clean and well maintained. But it's the pub that's the hidden gem here. The pub manager (Ross) is a funny, well spoken likeable chap, and himself and all the staff made my stay over one to remember! Big 'shout out' to Alex, Crystal and Indie (enjoy Bristol Uni you "Lege"!)...but all the staff were polite, funny, chatty and v accomodating...nothing was too much bother. The food from both Bar & restaurant menus was amazing, and the beer n food prices were very reasonable. Camp pitch prices were low compared to other local sites. I loved my stay here, and I am already plotting my return in the not-too-distant future! Tip-top camping. Tip-top pub & restaurant. Tip-top staff. 7 stars out of 5 from me! ? ??????
