Fabulous carvery, delicious dauphinoise potatoes, and the beef melts in the mouth. Really lovely service from Katrina, we spent a few hours with 6 kids and 3 adults, all had empty plates and Katrina met our every need, with a smile. She also reminded us to get the kids eat for a £1 vouchers online.Thank you and we will be back.

An excellent branch of Toby Carvery. Went on Boxing day so was able to have roast Lamb usually only available on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

I recently had an outstanding dining experience at Toby Carvery in Newton Abbot. The service was impeccable?friendly, efficient staff who enhanced our visit. The carvery offered a delicious array of perfectly cooked meats and fresh sides. The warm atmosphere and reasonable prices make it a fantastic value. Highly recommended for a delightful meal!

Visited for Christmas Lunch with my Partner and three children. Couldn't have been more disappointed with our experience. Service was awful, staff running around like headless chickens trying to serve people dessert when they had only just been seated. Waited 40 minutes between each course, drinks were served in inappropriate glasses, table wasn't set properly. Food was extremely disappointing also, tiny portions and nothing like as described on the menu. Not at all worth the nearly £300 it cost me for the 5 of us. It put a downer on our whole day. Would not recommend and will never be returning.

Visited Sunday - Absolutely disgusting could not eat it my husband waited 10 minutes for potatoes to be delivered by a very unprofessional chef who just chucked them down half shot off and fell to the floor. I took very little veg as only the dregs left very dry and potatoes so hard could not cut them. Paid and left did tell waitress who didn?t really care won?t be back and won?t recommend.

I enjoyed the meal and there was a good selection of meats. The drink service needs to be improved. I ordered my drinks on being shown to my table. The drinks did not arrive till I had finished my

Were ignored by staff who stood around talking. Drinks left sat on the bar so we ended up gettimg them ourselves. Food was not usual standard, meat was chewy and old and the potatoes had an after taste, very synthetic infact about 30 mins later i was ill. Never going back.

Collected a too good to go box. Contents had been prepackaged for me and collected was well organised. The actual food was terrible quality. Potatoes were very undercooked. I Ordered a veggie roast but only had potatoes, carrots and spouts. Where was the cauliflower cheese, stuffing, Yorkshire, green veg, parsnips?Last time I visited, the food was terrible too. Will never visit or order again, total waste of time and effort.

I hadn't visited the Newton Abbot Toby before, however, it was amazing! Really fresh veggies, including the roast potatoes (not frozen) and good value! I visited at lunch time and had a small plate and a soft (bottled) drink and it cost me £10, which I thought was very good. I had previously gone to another Toby a few times in the past in the south of England, which was ok, but this one is far better!

We came along with 10 residents from our home who have learning difficulties, there were also 5 members of staff. The staff at Toby were very accommodating & very patient & supportive towards our residents the whole time we were there. They provided their conservatory for our meal which was set back in the restaurant, out of the way a little but still able to hear the Christmas carols playing for us to sing along to.We all had an amazing time & the food was excellent!Compliments to all the kitchen staff on the delicious food.

For whatever reason, the staff were not happy that we were a large group of 20. One of the "waitresses" said that it would be a hassle for us to pay separately, so we would need to pay as we order and go up to the bar to do so. Several of us are disabled so it was quite challenging to go up to the bar every time we wanted something. There is almost no table service at all. The kids' meals were completely forgotten about, and when they did eventually come out 45 minutes later, they were cold and of poor quality. For example, one of the kids' meals was a chicken Nugget meal. They gave a small bowl with 6 tiny chicken popcorn sized pieces of chicken..... and that was the entire "Kids chicken Nugget meal."When it came to dessert, two of the adult orders were "forgotten" about, as well as three of the childrens. Several of us ordered the profiterole and fresh strawberry sundae. The sundae had no strawberries, and the profiteroles were rock hard frozen solid, so if we wanted to eat them, we would have to wait for them to defrost. Also one of the staff members was drinking half a pint at the bar, which is very unprofessional. I don't intend to sound like a Karen in this review, but people deserve to know that when spending over £300, they are not getting their money's worth.Over all, I would not recommend this place, nor would I ever go there again.Parking: There is lots of spaces available. There are only a few disabled parking bays. One of which doesn't have enough space to open the doors wide.Kid-friendliness: Not very kid friendly. The children were treated like a huge hassle, even though they were very well behaved.Wheelchair accessibility: All on the ground floor, including a filthy disabled toilet. There are narrow pathways and ramps to contend with. The door had no disabled button, so you may need to ask for help to get through it.....Good luck with that.

Lumpy gravy, undercooked veg. Staff are very nice though. Visited here a few times and each time it's consistently bad. Sadly, tries too many times to bother coming back. It looks like at busy times they can't keep up hence the undercooked veg as taking it out too early. No excuse for the gravy though, takes a few minutes and should never be lumpy. A shame as as tobies go, this one is in quite good repair and clean. The manager should be tasting the food on a regular basis to see if there's an issue along with the head chef.
