Happy with my eye test. However, having spent nearly £400 earlier this year on two new pairs of glasses, which later turned out to be unsuitable due to recent cataract procedures I was very disappointed to find out that I couldn?t use my ?Golden Ticket? against my nearly £400 new glasses. This was despite asking to reuse my barely worn frames. So, about £800 later I?m unhappy and wishing that I?d gone elsewhere. ?

Unprofessional and unwelcoming staff , several of whom were either chewing gum at the front desk or standing around gossiping loudly. If this is the best ? front of house ? that Specsavers has to offer , they?re in serious trouble.
The vision test was professional and explanatory , no problem there whatsoever. That was the only decent part of my experience.
However , after returning a week later to collect my glasses , I found that they had put in the wrong lenses. What a joke ! I then had to drive all the way back 4 days later to collect the glasses , after having chased them on the phone to see if they were ready. The spare glasses I?d ordered ( much cheaper ) online arrived before I had my new pairs from Specsavers in my possession.
I won?t be going back to this shambles. I?ll be going elsewhere.
And no , I won?t reach out to you on FB, Insta or X to discuss my concerns. I don?t use social media.

Over promise and under deliver. That's my recent experience of this branch. I ended up requesting a refund which they processed without any quibbles. They didn't even offer a resolution or an apology. Unfortunately the staff although welcoming don't really understand anything about the types of glasses that suits your prescription. Go elsewhere where they do......as I found out that the glasses I'd chosen were not fit for purpose for my prescription needs. This review doesn't reflect the excellent service from the optician.

Well no consistency in approach, what you get depends on who you were served with. I received 3 different prices for tge same pair of glasses. Once complaint they requested the highest value which was £55 above initial agreement.
I do not recommend them and also never go back there.
I had to see to different person to figure our right prescription for me. Wasted my time a lot in the process.

Only a pity there are no stars. Eye test is a professional service, and that is where it ends. The rest of the staff are abysmal. I question are they incompetent or badly trained, clearly customer service does not exist. I have never experienced such appalling service in any other branch of Specsavers. NEWTON ABBOT LETS DOWN THE SPECSAVERS BRAND.

Having spoken to the manager Christina, I?m very impressed the way in which my issues were resolved. Thank you to Rami for the assistance in ensuring my specs fit and are comfortable. Thank you Christiana for the options you made available to me. Big thank you, love my specs.

Optition was very good, explained everything, however, on collection of glasses, other staff were not very engaging or interested. Very crowded shop, very expensive for what I needed, sadly little other choices now.

My 4 year old was really nervous about coming in for his first ever eye test but he had a fantastic time and said that Specsavers Newton Abbot was his new favourite shop. He really enjoyed all the tests and everyone was very friendly.
Wissam Hammoudeh (Optician Director) had a lovely manner with Zevy, asking him questions that made Zevy engage and put him at ease.

After hard sell I was sold very focal which I couldn't get on with they refunded the difference and told they would be the new lens ready Friday, I didn't make appointment but I would just collect I'm now told I had a appointment on Saturday but they won't be ready until Monday possibly. but no communication. I'll think twice about going back.
