A very clean, well kept B & B with a nice bar / restaurant area. We stayed on the 8th and 9th of September 2023 and can highly recommend. Breakfast was first class, buffet and full English. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced as is the quality food that is served in the evenings. All staff were welcoming and helpful. Will return in the future and recommend to others. Dave and Helen Davies.

Hele schone kamers, vriendelijke eigenaren.Rooms: Heel schoon, redelijk nieuwe badkamers.Walkability: Het dorp is op loopafstand. Ook de valley of rocks is heel dichtbij en echt een mooie plek om te wandelen.Food & drinks: Lekker gegeten, voor ieder wat wils op de kaart. Veel biersoorten.

Very poor service that has just gone so downhill over the years. Saw in another review the owners response regarding someone ordering tap water practically shaming them into buying drinks to support them which felt very uncomfortable and just serves as another example of the poor service here. The food is nice but not nice enough to warrant a visit back when the owners act as if you've just broken into their home whenever you visit.

Used to love it in here years ago but the current owners have really taken it downhill. The food is good and very well priced, but the service is awful (in true lynton style) with the owners making us feel very uncomfortable and as if we had intruded on their home by visiting. It really is a place for the locals and they will make it no secret that they prioritise them over other customers.

We only visited the restaurant but did so twice as the food was excellent and being mid week off season there wasn't many other choices.Felt very unwelcome for ordering tap water.

We called in for a snack, and had a starter, and a drink. The older lady serving behind bar was miserable and impolite , we asked to move tables, this appeared to be a major hassle even though we only needed to move the cutlery, would not go again

Superb host, Excellent food, small menu, therefore everything is cooked fresh. The Menu is very varied and delicious Good value ? if you have an evening free , it?s a must !! Highly Recommend this hotel to eat, you will not be disappointed.

In need of a bit of TLC. Food was good and so was the service. Only used the restaurant for dinner on one night, did not stay here.

Just returned home from a lovely stay at The Sandrock in Lynton. The Sandrock is a little out of the way of the main high street but still only a 5 minute walk to the shops etc. We stayed in room 4 which was clean and well appointed, the en suite was spacious (huge infact!)and the towels really fluffy, it was also super clean and tidy. The room had lots of little extras to make it cosy and homely. The bed was really, REALLY comfy, so much so that even my partner who usually struggles when we are away said it was great, I think it was a memory foam mattress. We ate at the restaurant on one of the nights and the food was great! I had the pork belly which was amazing, really big portion and reasonable prices. Also the drinks in the bar are reasonably priced for the area (£4 a pint!) Breakfast was also lovely, with cereals, fruit and pastries aswell as a cooked breakfast (also I really liked the crockery ?) thoroughly recommend eating here of an evening, especially as it can be quite difficult to get food in Lynton after 6pm! The decor in the communal areas (mainly restaurant and bar) is a little dated, but nothing to take away from the experience and the b and b part of the building is more modern. Overall a superb stay and I would definitely go back if in the area again. Also there is a footpath just up the road from the b and b (next to the church yard) that isn't very well known and offers amazing views of the valley of the rocks from the top.
