Loved this place, staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for walkers. Really great pub and we had room 7 which was a good size and bed was very comfortable. And now we come to the breakfast. I would give my breakfast an 11 out of 10. It was so tasty and everything looked fresh. This was in the top 3 breakfasts I have every had. A big well done to all concerned

We always visit the Rockford Inn when we are in Lynmouth. Great walk along the river. Good, well priced lunches. Excellent beer. This is the first time we tried the Sunday roast. Excellent, we will visit again.

What a gem! The pub is in a beautiful location, and walks a plenty, two or four legged friends. Paul and Stella and of course Bailey, are a credit to the Rockford! Jobs to keep them busy for a while, having inherited recently, but maintaining a lovely environment to stay, and eat. The room we had was nicely appointed, with smart TV, usb stations, tea and coffee, hairdryer and copious amounts of hot running water. It was lovely and clean, and nice quality bedding and towels. Really nice touch in bathroom included a pot with cotton wool balls and buds etc. The breakfast was filling because of the quality products being used from butchers and baker. The menu isn't vast, but covers most tastes and vegan/vegetarian option. But the excellent quality and presentation is lovely! Steak and ale pie, was so nice I had it two nights running! Burgers were a delightful challenge! Things will only get better in their capable hands, and we look forward to our next visit. They also do dinner bed and breakfast deals, so ask, as its nice not to have to trudge out around the lanes for your evening meal!

Good pub for beer and food in a Wednesday night. Hospitable young keen barman did a good job of looking after locals and random tourists like me.

Nice out of the way pub with rooms. Quiet midweek in October, busier at weekend. Walk on river path over the bridge directly opposite to Watersmeet or further to lynmouth. Also did a walk to the coast path from here too. Straight forward drive to anywhere else in Exmoor

My wife, our nearly two-year old daughter, and I stayed at The Rockford Inn in September 2023. We had a wonderful time! Paul and Stella, together with Tom and the rest of the team, made our stay as pleasant as one can wish for. The rooms were well decorated and clean, the food (both breakfast and dinner in the pub) was fabulous, and the ales were tasty. The Rockford Inn is very well situated, less than a 30-minute drive from most major Exmoor attractions. Located right next to the River Lyn, you are surrounded by forest and water; very relaxing! Some lovely hikes start or are very close to the inn. We recommend walking to Watersmeet House, and from there to Countisbury and Foreland Point, stopping at the Blue Ball Inn; a lovely hike where you get it all: river, forest, coastal views, cream tea, and ales!
