“A great base for a walking holiday or for the first and last nights of a week of camping on the moor.

I have stayed here twice as the first night of wild-camping trips to Dartmoor in the past 10 years and have loved it every time. The rooms are comfortable and airy, the beds are not too soft, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is great.

This used to be more of a pub with rooms than a hotel, which is what I like. More like a traditional travellers' Inn than anything else.

I particularly recommend the breakfasts. Just what you need to fortify yourself before a hard day of walking.”
