We found this pub during a camping trip to the local area, whilst taking our dog for his evening walk. There was a lovely village atmosphere, yet we felt totally welcome as strangers. The service was friendly, attentive and promp. Staff were all super polite and helpful. The food and drinks were fabulous - good choice of food, well cooked and presented, and tasted wonderful. Our dog was made to feel very welcome - able to sit anywhere we liked with him, his own bowl of water, and good quality dog treats for sale on the bar. Just wish we lived nearby - we'd definitely be regulars!

We live in the next village over but had never visited until last Friday and really glad we did. The pub has a lovely feel to it, good atmosphere, friendly locals, and great staff.
There is a good selection of drinks behind the bar and the food we ordered was really nice. What we ordered was the usual 'pub grub' (e.g., burger and chips, hunter's chicken etc.) and whilst there are other choices on the menu (that I can't comment on because I didn't order it) I think it's worth saying I thought they did the 'pub grub' food really well. It's surprising how many pubs there are nowadays that don't really hit the mark with this sort of food, not this place though, would definitely eat there again.
We had a table on the green outside and just had a really nice time there. We had our two young kids with us (both under 3) and all the staff were brilliant with them (and very patient with us!).
In summary, excellent pub and definitely a heart of the community type feel about it. Hope it has many more years of good business.

Here on a CL caravan site, pub within a 5 minute walk. Very welcoming and a good choice of drinks.
Came here on curry night, a Tuesday, poppadoms, naan bread, rice and curry, condiments and a drink for less than £17. One of the nicest curries also!!
All great, apart from Ruth the local ;) (loved her really). X

I had an excellent lunch and went back for the curry evening the next day-held on a Wednesday. Friendly service, good pub atmosphere, prompt and delicious home cooked food. Would really recommend a stop over here for food.

Had a couple of meals here including Sunday lunch. Great portions. Lovely home cooked food. Not often you think that the Sunday lunch has been cooked in your mum's kitchen. Staff welcoming and friendly

Visited this lovely little country pub this Sunday. Booked on line one hour before and were given a nice table by the window overlooking the green. The staff were all very friendly and the pub had a nice feel to it. The menu was simple but good. We both had the Sunday roast and were really impressed. The desserts looked lovely too but we were too full by then. Very impressed. Would definitely go back.

Booked for Sunday Lunch. Meals were excellent, lively atmosphere in an olde world pub. Service was slow, but they were busy.

Booked a table for 7pm and had to wait 30 mins for drinks order to be taken. The food was good but took an age to come. No carpark. very busy with locals in the bar.
