We have made a conscious decision for years, to drop in to this cafe on our trips to Cornwall in preference to the chain ran places. We have a dog and sit outside, usually go for a bacon sandwich served with crisps and leaves with coffee. It's a family run affair, always good food and good service. Cafe and loos clean.I understand the comments about the 'rude' lady, but I don't find her rude, she's just not the sort that pulls fake smiles at everyone. I love characters personally. Would always prefer a place like this than a Costa Bucks etc..

A lovely, friendly cafe serving quality espresso bar coffee and a good selection of hot food and cakes. Well worth a visit!

We pulled off the road after a very long journey, hoping to find somewhere comfortable for a longish break. At first we thought the cafe was shut as the car park was deserted and the cafe was so dark, we were having second thoughts. After another car pulled in behind us, we felt reassured and decided to go in. The cafe was dark and freezing cold, but we'd already committed and decided to stick it out. The prawn sandwiches tasted fine with fresh bread but felt like they were mostly lettuce. There were far too many dead flies lurking on the window sills and everything looked like it needed a bit of a revamp. Beautiful view up the hillside, I'm sure it feels much nicer in the summer months.

Stopped here on our way to Cornwall. Good clean and pleasant cafe. Nice terrace to sit outside in good weather. Quite a good choice from the menu.Parking: Gravel parking on a slight slopeWheelchair accessibility: Not used but looks OK for Wheelchairs

Had full English. Eggs burnt and far too greasy. beans cold. Toast served spread with margarine. Breakfast was edible but unremarkable for the price.Asked for large coffees; the Cafe may benefit from comparing their 'large' cups, to those of other estabishments, and upgrading the size.

Had to sit outside as we had the dog. This worked as it was August but there was a lot of wasps. Lady serving was a bit abrupt, food was quite expensive and average.

Just stopped for a brief coffee break. Stunning location. No complaints with the coffee and smoothie I ordered - the lady serving brought a glass of water without me asking. Nice alternative to stopping at the Starbucks just down the road.

Sad and unpleasant. Redeemed only slightly by long suffering staff. Not really sure how it stays in business other than it happens to be on a tourist route

Wish I could say the hospitality was as good as the food. We we?re made to feel uncomfortable. The food was quite decent though and the premises were lovely. Won?t be returning due to the unwelcoming reception from the owner!!
