Date of visit: Wednesday 30/04/2025 at around 9:35am.
I went into SPAR Honiton with £60 cash to buy Tesco Mobile top-up vouchers. I put the money on the counter and asked specifically for Tesco Mobile. Two £20 vouchers were issued, but the voucher numbers were wrong the PayPoint slips printed short/incorrect sequences instead of the standard 16-digit Tesco Mobile codes. I immediately raised this with the cashier (Denise) and then with the manager (Helen).
I clearly said I did not want the vouchers because they were incorrect. During the discussion Denise snatched £40 from my hand; I managed to keep hold of £20. I left without workable vouchers.
To confirm the problem wasn?t mine, I went to the Post Office the same day and bought a correct Tesco Mobile voucher the receipt shows the proper 16-digit activation code and worked fine. I have all the receipts and photos.
Since then I?ve written twice to the store and had no response at all. For a straightforward issue (wrong vouchers issued and no refund or replacement), this level of customer service is unacceptable. I?m asking SPAR Honiton to refund £40 or provide the correct Tesco Mobile vouchers for the amount taken.
Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend this store... It is applaing

Went to ship an Evri parcel, but was told I wouldn?t be allowed to because I wouldn?t make it through the queue in time to close. Left the shop without shipping or printing my label.
Then at the same time my partner tried to collect an Inpost parcel, but was told he needed to show ID. However, this is not a policy for inpost and the barcode was provided. I even confirmed this on inpost website.
Left the shop feeling overall very disappointed and disheartened by the experience.
I must add that the staff member talking to me about the parcel was polite about it, but none the less I was very disappointed. If this is the case with parcels, then maybe the shipping services should be closed prior to the shops closing time.
Unfortunately, I don?t think I have even been in here and not had to wait in a long and slow moving queue.

First of all I got in the store and put my bike down out of the way then I get some old lady telling me to put it outside a nother store. After that I got a sandwich that was £3 I then waited in the line for ages with barely anyone serving you I get to the counter and they try to tell me that it is £5 absolutely rubbish place, don?t go

Dear Team,
I am very disappointed with the service I received today. I visited your store to return my EVRi parcels and had to wait for assistance, but no one came to help. After a few minutes, I noticed the instructions for returning a parcel and decided to follow them.
While returning my second parcel, which contained a memory card (still unopened), the return label did not print. I approached a staff member?an older lady with spectacles?to ask for help. However, she was rude and asked me to come to her instead. She refused to accept my parcels, claiming they were improperly packaged. According to EVRi?s return policy, packaging is not required, which is why I did not pack them. It was her responsibility to handle the packaging, but she refused and told me to pack them properly first.
Her mannerisms and the way she spoke to me were extremely unprofessional and unpleasant. Previously, my husband returned around seven parcels at the same location without any packaging, yet today, I was treated differently. Her response felt like a slap in the face.
I hope you take this matter seriously and address the issue to ensure better customer service in the future.

The manager just left the poor woman behind the tills on her own with a large queue and lots of package pickups. He was asked to help twice and didn't. When he did appear he looked at the queue and still didn't help out. As a delivery driver dropping off packages this put me almost 20 minutes behind. I'll be mentioning this to my manager and hopefully Spar will take note and get the management to get the customers seen to asap before anything else

After getting to the end of the postage label creator on their evri machine we were told it can?t take payment. Fine.
We did it on our phone and printed the label. An unrelated queue had formed and the parcels were very big so I asked if I could put them on the empty counter whilst I joined the back of the queue to finish sending the parcels, as I didn?t want our parcels getting in the way of what little space there was.
The woman serving started panicking, almost told us no, then yes, so I put the items up, turned to join the queue and she started screeching at me about running away?? I just wanted to join the queue and wait my turn?
Utterly embarrassing, the whole queue was staring at us and the whole situation was incredibly uncomfortable. Felt like children being yelled at and told off. I decided to just stay where I was stood so she didn?t screech at me again and wait there to be served?
Very patronising. 5 minutes or less drop off took 27 minutes. Not a quick service and rude staff.

SPAR Goss Honiton is a great little convenience store with a friendly and helpful staff. They have a wide range of products, including fresh produce, baked goods, and a hot food counter. The prices are reasonable and the store is always clean and well-stocked. I would definitely recommend SPAR Goss Honiton to anyone looking for a convenient and affordable place to shop.

Be aware if you are wanting to drop off Evri parcels for sending this cannot be done throughout the openings times. If they are scanning parcels your parcel for drop off cannot be received and you may have to wait 15-20 minutes. For what should be a quick drop off this can significantly impact on a person's day, evening and night with the implications being greater than an initial 15-20 minutes. There is apparently only 1 scanner.
