This past Mother?s Day , having perversely having trouble getting flowers delivered I came across this wonderful butchers in Bradworthy that delivered meat boxes. As I live in Canada getting a gift out for Mother?s Day is very important, well Hoof-to-Block went above and beyond to get it delivered !!Would highly recommend the service and quality of meat .

We bought 2 steak pasties which were straight out of the oven. We both agreed that the pasties had the most amount of beef in them that we'd ever had. They were delicious. We also bought sirloin steaks and pork sausages which are yet to be tried. Really friendly shop. I'm hoping to order online as we don't live locally.

Everything we've ordered has been fantastic quality. Sausages full of flavour and a lovely crumbly texture. Good value and you can definitely taste the difference.

Lovely helpful knowledgeable people. We were on holiday and were thrilled to find a butcher that sources its meat locally. Had a ribeye steak which was so tender and tasty. The pork was sweet and full of flavour. Highly recommend

Hoof to block is one of those tiny (store very long but only something 2.5-3m wide), but really great places that are such a joy.You are usually welcomed by the boss himself. Terry, experienced butcher (if I understood correctly: 30 years of professional experience!), is instantly likeable; despite being well busy, he explains to us his complete display of local meat specialties - from the juicy burger patties to a wide range of various steaks to the various own sausage creations, everything comes from hand-picked farms in the vicinity.We are actually becoming more and more vegetarian. But made an exception - and it was worth it: we were there again just a week later!Tip: try the delicious homemade sausages, like plum pudding or Cumberland.And: talk to Terry, it's worth it, he is so authentic and always has a joke on his lips.Insider: he can also enchant, er serve two customers at the same time (whether his lovely wife, who is also always in the store, can confirm this, we do not know ?).By the way, you can also get various local products, such as the delicious Otter Vale Chutneys or local honey from Bradworthy.

We ordered plenty for the BBQ whilst on holiday. The minted lamb kebabs were very nice and we added a few sausage rolls and pastries to take to the beach the next day.Everyone very nice, recommended places to visit and lots of regulars coming in and out whilst we waited. It has a nice local feel.

Visited while on holiday. Great butchers and friendly staff. Produce we purchased was excellent. Would definitely recommend. We'll be returning before we come home.
