Visited Hartland Point. What a disappointment. Paid £3 to visit. No public convenience, but a cafe on site. Where do you wash your hands?? We had a 91 year old with us who needed public convenience, we were told no toilets at all. I asked the question, what are their options? to be told the nearest is back in Hartland or Stoke. Shameful!
Gates were closed to the lighthouse. This should have been explained prior to payment.
One favorable point, fantastic views out to sea.
Should you decide to visit, be sure to use a public convenience first.

No sure if this lil place is still open, went there last August, was all closed up and no sign of life about the place. I did visit a few years before and it was awesome but I'd check first, nice part of Devon for walks tho, crack on down to Hartland Quay, that's definitely got places open to eat, stunning views of Lundy on a good day too, Kushti Rye ??????

Considering this place is in the middle of nowhere, being run by one person, everything about it is great! We had smoothies which were very refreshing, and some tasty tiffin. What with being in the aforementioned middle of nowhere the card machine generally doesn't work, not without the owner running off up a hill to find a signal; entertaining to the casual observer, but not conducive to the smooth running of a business. Bring hard cash, or, perhaps if you're lucky, the owner will let you pay via bank transfer (as she did for us).Another thing to note is that the owner has had a lot of trouble communicating with Google, and for the moment is listed as being temporarily closed. The cafe is, in fact, open for 6 months of the year (though, I neglected to ask which 6 months. ...feeling lucky? - I suspect throughout spring and summer; we visited in May)For anyone walking the coastal path this cafe is a blessing, and deserves as much support as it can get, so go nuts, have 2 ice creams, layer a block of tiffin between 2 scones, drink 3 coffees to get you up that next hill, just keep this place alive else we all get nothing.

After walking miles on a multi day trip on the SWCP, this stretch caused us some difficulties due to the absence of any facilities en route. This little cabin was an absolute saviour 8 miles in from Clovelly! We had tea, coffee, lovely freshly made sandwiches, crisps. Thank you to the owner. Such a warm and friendly welcome to two weary hungry walkers. Thank you for being there ?.
