We had booked a family meal to celebrate a 40th birthday at the weekend and the staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly towards us. The Food and service were amazing. I would definitely recommend going.

Really friendly welcome and dog friendly too. Turkey and beef roast were both excellent. Good sized carpark with good access and outside garden atea. Will definitely be back when we're in the area.

One of the best Sunday roasts and no mistake! What a brilliant British pub this place truly is. It's hard to decide what was better, the food or the service, as both were top shelf excellent. Actually the best bit may be the crumble and custard, Shakespeare would fail in describing its excellence. I really hope to go back soon, Hoorah!!

Food was superb, very tasty and a good range. We had the naked burger (basically burger without the bun), comes with chips, mushrooms, bacon, onion rings and salad. Every part of it was really nice.
Recommend their home cooked crumble - delicious.
Staff are super friendly and welcoming. If you are in the area and looking for somewhere to eat I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

A lovely cosy inn with a friendly feel. Sunday lunch was gorgeous. John was so helpful and accommodating to our party of 9 including 3 chatty kids and 2 doggies, providing us with local recommendations for our trip. would definitely recommend!

Myself, Husband & Spaniel visited here tonight for the first time & really enjoyed ourselves. Service and food was fabulous.

We were staying nearby and were starving. Got there not long after it opened. I would say the menu was traditional pub grub...ham, egg and chips, fish and chips, homemade steak pie etc along with a specials board.
My problem is that when I see homemade steak pie on the menu nothing else matters, it's my yardstick to how good the food is. My son is the same with ham and chips, this one came with both egg AND pineapple, that's a good start. After a chat, my wife went for fish and chips as we were near to Brixham and we agreed to go halves.
There was a bit of a wait for the food, around 45 minutes, but I'm guessing it was because we ordered as soon as it opened but when it came the meals were all piping hot and remained hot throughout the meal, you can't say that very often. The ham was thick, proper ham and the yolk orange. My pie was stuffed with meat and the gravy was??The fish was also very good. A few ciders later we left.
So that's it, really good ingredients cooked very well. We'd have no problem returning. Enjoyed the food that much that I only took a photo once I'd nearly finished and was having a break.

A well used local pub. Menu is straight out of the 70s - think prawn cocktail and gammon steaks - but very nice food. Very friendly service, good selection of beers & ciders and 2 lovely bar dogs. What more could you want?
Some confusion over when they are open with Google saying the are open Wed - Sun and their website saying Thurs - Sun (Google was right)

Proper pub! Plus dog and child friendly.
We visited twice while staying nearby on holiday, once for Sunday roast and again for Thursday evening.
On both occasions the food and service was exceptional!
Generous portions of proper homemade food, with so much choice they really do cater for everyone.
Everyone who worked there were so welcoming, friendly and were brilliant with the dogs and keeping our young child entertained.
The pub itself was very clean, with lots of character.
We hope to visit again if we?re ever passing

Absolutely fantastic roast! We stumbled upon this gem in Devon and were blown away. The food was top quality ? everything cooked to perfection with generous portions. Service was speedy and super friendly, you can tell it?s a family-run place with a lot of heart. It had a warm, welcoming vibe that made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you?re after a proper roast and great hospitality! Big thank you to John who looked after us all!
