A nice, quiet place to stop and have a coffee and browse the goodies and posters around you

We had a pre-show supper at Charlie's, very good bistro style food, fab red wine & excellent friendly service. Prices are reasonable & the menu is varied; well done Charlie it's great to see the cafe humming, just what Torrington needs!

Absolutely fantastic food at a really reasonable price and worth every penny. The care and attention to detail to everything from the food to the decor to the cleanliness of the bathrooms was evident and very much appreciated. Friendly, welcoming staff made our visit all the better. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others!

Things are looking up at the plough cafe! I had a super healthy avocado and poached egg salad whilst the man had the full works green Thai curry. Both excellent and super friendly service. Can recommend!

EXCELLENT ARTS CINEMA which shows a variety of unusual films from around the world, plus an entertaining selection of more mainstream movies, too. Normally has three or four films each week; current releases, often foreign language, art house and just plain unusual films which don't get shown in multiplexes. The staff are also very happy to accept suggestions if there's something you'd specifically like to see. They have an extended range of films during school holidays with plenty of matinees for the kids and movies for the mature audience in the evenings. Tickets reasonably priced (around £6) and can be prebooked with your choice of seating. Seats are on the small side, and theatre can be chilly in winter (so wear a woolly!). Great cafe for drinks, coffees, lunch and dinner; worth booking a table for meals. The Plough also hosts live entertainment, music, comedians, workshops etc. Definitely worth a visit. 9/10

A geat cafe, with exhibition space, theatre and a range of art house as well as main stream films. Great place to visit if you are around. (And the best food around too!).

Great place in the middle of Torrington. The Plough Arts Centre has a small cinema, cafe, Gallery. It also runs classes, keep fit etc, and workshops for childrens and adults alike. Lots of acting with Drama clubs and it also houses fair trade stands from time to time
