This is the least reliable Royal Mail service area I've lived in. They are forever delivering items to the wrong neighbor, leaving it to us to sort it all out. Their 48 hour tracked service is a joke-- lucky to get things within a week (and then not necessarily to the right address). They need to train the delivery personnel to read addresses and ensure they've got the right one.

I had the same experience of waiting in for a signed for delivery. Mysteriously a card saying a delivery had been attempted was put through the letterbox.i was in the room next door and heard it come through the letter box. No attempt to ring or knock made. When I picked it up a few mins later and realised what it was of course no postie in site. Shocking contempt of customers.

Horrible opening hours, 2 hours a day, what?s the point. What?s even worse is I scheduled a pick-up at a different post office for opening hours availability, and yet they didn?t deliver my parcel to that specified PO on the day they said. Can?t give an opinion on the staff as I?ve never met them because the place is always closed.

Opening hours are a joke

Extremely disappointed. I was waiting for a special delivery today, guaranteed delivery before 1.00pm. At 11:50 I found a card had been left in the letterbox to say an attempted delivery had been made at 11:39 which I find difficult to believe. If anyone knocked, it was extremely quiet! It?s a small house which looks out into the street, I?m at a loss to understand why there was time to leave a card but not delivery the package or any attempt to leave it elsewhere. The delivery office closed at 12:00 so there was no opportunity to collect today and as you are closed on Sunday, earliest I can collect is on Monday. I really needed it today.

Very helpful and polite staff, often dealing with rude customers but remaining calm and professional. Longer opening hours would be lovely, but that?s down to Royal Mail!

I don't know what's happened with deliveries in EX8 recently, I've had one parcel go missing completely, but this is the second time this week where they've supposedly attempted delivery and nobody has been home. Try knocking the door or ringing the doorbell, it works! The first time they never left a card, this second time they did. Someone was home both times! I had a regular postman for years and he was great. Now it appears to be a different person every other week. Other couriers can deliver without fail, come on Royal Mail.

How is it so difficult to deliver a package on time when I can see the office from my house. When I walk past half of them are sat having a chst and a cigarette. Even shein can deliver packages on time or early, people complain about the postman not knocking on their door but at least they managed to get to the front door.

Phoned customer services about some items I'm waiting for, was told no problems with Exmouth sorting office, first class can take 13 days to get to you and 2nd class 16 days. Bull as when I worked for them in and around London priority was always met. Perhaps we need a more reliable source in Devon. Appalling.

I had an international letter. They knocked the door but didn?t ring the bell (ring doorbell that sounds on all my echo devices) so I didn?t hear the door as I was out the back, they left a card so I go to website to get it redelivered for Monday I stayed in all day and no one came I rang them and they have lost the letter Grrr why didn?t they just post the letter as it was not signed forIt?s now been over a week and still no call about where it is so I guess I have to ring themVery bad service

the bullying and harassing attitude of this sorting office needs to be investigated ? countless opt-out forms by myself and neighbours ignored, even when hand-delivered to the depot. Instead, the postman arrogantly informs us he will continue to shovel a mountain of plasticised junk mail and flyers through our door as that is what his manager Rosemary Finnie has told him to do, regardless of whether we have filled in opt-out forms, as the 'clients' have paid for it and they are legally obliged to deliver despite objections. The poor householder meanwhile has no control over what gets put through their letterbox. As the woman in the sorting office told me today the Royal Mail is not legally obliged to respect the opt-out.

Opening hours are so restricted. This indicates poor management and a contempt for customers. But Royal Mail is now a privatised company, I would suggest using a cheaper and more flexible delivery company, like Parcel Hero or Hermes, as an alterative. The staff at the Delivery Office counter are pleasant enough, it is just the deficiencies of the management that leave a lot to be desired. Feel free to boycott this private company in future- the Managing Director is taking the money for his bonus, and it's enough to keep your family in luxury for the rest of your lives, no small amount.

It?s really hard to get things that have been taken there after they miss you at your house due to the limited house they are open in the early morning

What poor service and delivery in the Exmouth area.
