None of the staff spoke Japanese, so our months of practicing the language was for nothing. The only £3:50 dishes on the conveyer were about 8 prawn crackers, or 8 edamame beans.

Deliveroo. Food was cold and portions were tiny. Never again.

Having visited YO Exeter over many years I am disappointed with the sorry state that we found in visiting on a cold and windy Wednesday afternoon.
On entering we noticed the lights either not on or not working, heating was poor and tables looking shoddy and still to be cleared.
Menus tired and sticky with the conveyor belt lacking selection of dishes. The table layout with ginger not full and no implements to serve,no wasabi and the floor under the table like a war zone, heaps of used glass and pots on side of serving area 2 members of staff and he left with 1 doing everything.
Food ordered the Squid with half the batter missing was tough and chewy, green tea was hot water and coke came with no ice and bottle inside the glass not hygenic.Portion sizes were poor and slap dashed on the plates.
This is a sad decline of a once noisy vibrant eating experience where interaction was part of the theatre, not any more and will avoid.

Great food and brilliant service, the reason for the rating was the state of the toilets, won't go into detail but....... However when reported to the manager it was immediately dealt with again great staff. I will be going back but maybe take some TP or wet wipes, just in case.
Kid-friendliness: A colouring set was given to us on entry, that was a godsend

Bring back QR code. Less problematic too many human errors and too much waiting time.

absolutely appalling experience at yo sushi in exeter. We correctly booked a table and however never received and was dissatisfied by getting 5 seats in a row on the belt. We then wanted yakisoba noodles, however, they had ran out. Trying to get someone to take our orders took about twenty minutes bear in mind we are all ravenous by this point and i?m getting hangry. We then were given our meals, me and a friend bought the chicken firecracker rice. The only utensils we were given were chopsticks which was near impossible to eat rice with. We asked for forks and water as our mouths were on fire and were failing horribly to eat our rice with chopsticks. We were never given our forks and water so i ended up getting 3 wooden forks myself. As the waiter came around i asked for a jug of water for the table. It took him about at-least fifteen minutes and was extremely let down when he gave us a jug with ONE cup when i shall remind you that there is five of us.
Before we ordered, we asked if we were able to use our student discounts, the answer was yes. Knowing this, our friend used her student discount and got the free gyoza. However, they made her pay when we got to checkout which she was very disappointed about. Also, because they said yes to the student discount which they said we needed to use £15 to get to get it, our friend purchases more food to attempt to qualify for the discount to only find that in the fine print - which was not stated by the waiter beforehand - there was a minimum spend.
In conclusion, we will think twice about going here.

Not what it used to be. Too expensive and not enough food. Stingy on the serving of top ups on the miso soup. Needs a serious rethink. Sorry as I used to love taking my kids here.

Service very slow. Music very loud. Staff standing around on their phones. Server had quite a bizarre attitude. Food mediocre at best.

Have eaten here a few times and the experience has always been good but not tonight. The restaurant and toilet needs a good clean, all looks quite grubby with a leak from one of the urinals.
There wasn?t much choice on the conveyor belts, the Pinot Grigio was warm (server told us that there wasn?t any in the fridge? on a Friday night?!!).
Food was okay but the menu needs to be updated as some of the food is no longer available!
We won?t be back here as there are better Sushi/Asian restaurants nearby

You have to book, despite this we were seated 15min later than our booking, then we waited an other 10 min and I had to ask to get our order through, 20min later order wasn't arriving, left without eating, kids enjoyed the belt.

We went there for my Birthday today, no prosecco, no any white wine , asked the waitress she said we've had a busy week. I asked can I see a manger,, 30 mins later she appears with a bottle of warm white wine. Sorry the manager is busy.... Customer first ! We just got up and left.. I suggest you do the same, or Just don't Go. We went to Nandos full and excellent. Not what I Wanted though, yo Isn't what it should be. Bad. Bad revenue .

Great location for a spot of quick healthy lunch. The food is tasty and prices are good, staff are lovely and friendly and always busy.
Only thing letting them down is the cleanliness of the bathrooms and menus
Kid-friendliness: Highchairs for little ones but they are much lower than the tables. There is a lower table at the back worth asking for with little ones.

Spring onion and tofu soup, no onion
Having to guess what you are ordering
Staff seemed aimless and more interested in clearing the tables than serving the customers. I don?t understand how it can go so terribly wrong from one visit to the next.
Such a shame, ordered a dish and had to remind the staff 3 times.
