You really need a word with the two older ladies, working on the evening of November 5th at 9pm, in your Exeter store, Heavitree Road. Both were miserable and rude.
The plumpish lady with the short hair didn't even acknowledge me (and I'd been in twice that evening). She literally threw my groceries through the checkout and didn?t mutter a word to me. Not a single word!
My husband finds the same, as does my daughter. My daughter asks, "What is it with the rude older ladies in Waitrose? The younger staff are all so nice!".
I rarely visit these days as I find them so rude and miserable.
This is really bad and unacceptable.
The store has been going downhill recently, and I've noticed a huge drop in quality. It is now very expensive to what it was. I've shopped here years, online and instore.
The other month, I literally gasped at the receipt - £40 for two bags of "not very much." I even had the receipt rechecked as I couldn't believe it.
I now shop elsewhere, including M&S, much more frequently. The staff there are far more pleasant, and the quality is top notch.

Waitrose seem to be cutting too many items from their shelves. That is no way to retain their custom

Both coffee machines out of order and even though they have an on site coffee shop, they won't honour the member deal. No explanation given by customer(less) service. Very poor again from Waitrose

Typical full size Waitrose outlet. Plenty of unique stuff. High prices that you would expect from a Waitrose or M & S store. Staff is very helpful. Some items are unique and only available at Waitrose due to their supply chain being quite different from Tesco or Sainsbury's. Overall if you can budget for Waitrose, they are the best in terms of quality and high standards; only M&S really rivals them.
