Ivy is one of those places that has invested money in quality of their location, the inside decor and general loo. All of it is very good and makes you want to come here.
However, their food quality and pricing lets it down. A lot of people love it but we have been to Ivy multiple times in multiple location food is consistently mediocre at best.
We stopped for drinks and snacks late afternoon. Asked for a gin martini and magarita. Both drinks had to be sent back and had to be remade. Second time round they were much better. So if they can be done right why not do them right the first time round?
We also had the;
- truffle arancini; tiny size and only 3 peices. This must be some kind of mistake or a record!
- Simple fries and bread and butter was good.
Why cant they get it right!!

Great place to have lunch with friends. Booths are comfortable and allow for a good catch up. The building/interior is excellent and the staff are always very pleasant and professional.
Perhaps it was a particularly busy lunch service or the restaurant was short staffed, but the main course was very lukewarm. A shame, as we all ordered the ssme dish and at a good temperature, it would have been really good!
A word to the wise to The Ivy...if you don't have any espresso cups do tell your diner and don't just serve a single espresso in a coffee/tea cup...the luquid is cold and a sugar lump does not submerge!

My sister and I were warmly welcomed by by Morgan and James. Our waiters Motus and Jalil went above and beyond to make our evening experience enjoyable and memorable. I would recommend the Korean chicken salad, beautiful flavours and not too heavy leaving room for their chocolate bombe dessert.

Me and my boyfriend went to The Ivy to celebrate an anniversary. We chose to reserve an outside table, it was a gorgeous location - very private and calm as we watched the sun go down.
We both ordered the Ivy Steak which was cooked beautifully and tasted delightful. The wait for food is very minimal, our drinks, food and desert all took less than fifteen minutes to arrive to our table. We were very impressed with how quick and pleasant the service was. Our server, James, was extremely accommodating. His delivery was very polite and jolly, creating a friendly and welcoming environment.
My boyfriend told The Ivy prior to our booking that it was our anniversary and they made it that extra bit special for us. We were gifted a desert on the house to celebrate, which was totally unexpected but was the cherry on top of a perfect evening.
Overall, we would one hundred percent recommend spending an evening at The Ivy.

Great meal here recently. Came in asking for a table for two and managed to get a table outside. Good food and drinks and waiter was great. We live near the one in Cheltenham so was nice to experience a different one that was equally as good. Cheers.

A spontaneous shopping day in Exeter followed with a trip here in the hopes they could fit us in. Luckily they had room. Have previously dined with friends and always had a good time, but looks like the outside area has had a bit of a freshen up since we were last here. Looks like they?ve also added some new tables with gorgeous Whicker chairs on the high street, that we hadn?t seen before. Didn?t realise there were two entrances too, big open doors gave a lovely view of the decor inside. Food was excellent. Service was fantastic as always. Waiter was very attentive and professional. We will be back in the winter

We had dinner here as a family of 4. Dined off the summer menu. Great value for money for what you get. Service was excellent by Sian. Decor was great, staff were finely and food and drinks were nice. Really recommend it!

Table next to us had it worse than us, cold food, steak tasted like burnt hair, chicken curry the chicken is like reheated pre cooked supermarket chicken.

My partner ordered me a non alcoholic mocktail (whilst pointing at the menu) (because I?m pregnant) unbeknownst to me they gave me and alcoholic one. We then ordered two more and as they arrived I checked if they were non-alcoholic and they said no. The waitress (Maya T) then said the first one wasn?t after I asked. I informed her I was pregnant and asked for more water (to try and minimise the damage). She wasn?t very apologetic and was very slow about bringing the water. No discount on the bill was offered and the service (12.5%) was added. I have always had very good experiences at the Ivy Exeter but this is very disappointing. My lunch was ruined due to stress and having to down two bottles of water to mitigate any damage done meaning I couldn?t finish my meal and left the restaurant very bloated. I won?t hurry back.

Delicious meal in a delightful setting. Lovely calm and enjoyable atmosphere. Our server Alfie was fantastic, and really worked hard to make sure that our evening was even more special. His attention to detail really showed, and I was impressed to see all the guests he served given the same high level of service

Went in for a quick lunch for a special occasion and felt so special and the food was amazing! We were hosted by Toby who were just incredible and so attentive. He even gave me encouraging words for my upcoming event, and calmed my nerves. Truly went above and beyond.

we took my parents there for dinner,food was excellent,i had the shepherds pie,it was lovely but small portion for the price and could of been accompanied by some nice carrot or other veg,service charge abit steep!!!
