We really enjoyed our dinner here. The food was homemade and fresh with plenty of nice veggie options, better than most pub meals! The staff were lovely and accommodating and everything was reasonably priced.

Wow, wow, wow! What an absolutely fantastic place. We travelled from Essex, to see family. 6 adults all ordered different food from the menu. Each meal was cooked to perfection, it was delicious I mean TRULY delicious. In my opinion this place deserves Michelin stars! The price was well worth it, and extremely reasonable.
If ever you are in the area it is 100% worth a visit.
The pub also had a great atmosphere, the staff were great ?.
All in all a hidden gem

Wheelchair accessibility: I didn't see a wheelchair ramp outside, I stepped up one step to the entrance. However, there is a designated disabled toilet. So I must have missed the ramp ??

Absolutely delicious steak meal , cooked perfectly with all the trimmings, best steak I've had in any restaurant in years . Friendly host Becky and chef Wendy even came out to ask how our meal was. Fabulous service ! Will definitely be returning . Plenty of parking and roomy restaurant.
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options

Had a very pleasurable lunchtime meal experience at this lovely cosy pub on 3rd January. The food was exceptional; I had the beef curry and it was the best I?ve tasted in years, it was delicious. The chef was very accommodating and even served us prawn cocktail starters which we had enquired about but were not actually on the menu - what a lovely touch.
All the dishes were very well presented and the waitress was attentive, efficient, friendly and helpful.
We could not have asked for more, thank you.

Pre-booked a table (recommended as can get very busy)for 5 family members and was greeted by a very nice young lady who showed us to our seats and from the get go we had terrific table service,
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming,
Separate bar area to the restaurant part and a corner for the younger family members to play games, puzzles etc,
Proper log fire with chesterfield seats to make a small little quiet Nook,
On to the menu now,
We did think the menu was minimal but I think this is down to new owners just starting out and feeling their feet at what customers like !?
We enquired about the pie of the day and was told it was lamb with mash or pastry the waitress didn't know which?
Myself I ordered the monkfish tail scampi, chips in the shape like you could use to dip into a sauce which I found very different but very tasty finished with fresh peas and pea shoots again something I have never tried but really liked them,and believe me I have never tasted anything as nice as the monkfish tail scampi it was absolutely lovely and the potion size was huge, my taste in batter is not huge but that's me,
When it came to puddings we were given a little sticky note with a few puddings that was available (unfortunately no prices just a hand written note)
We ordered 3 raspberry rolade's with cream but 5 minutes later the chef came out and apologised as he only had 2 rolade's available so we settled for those and a chocolate fudge brownie,
Everything was laid out all professional like and top marks to the chef 100%,

Booked a table 2 months ago for 8 for my son?s birthday, went last night, when ordering off menu they had run out of a few things and we were told they were running food down for Christmas ( it?s the 19th Dec) still the weekend to go 5 days!! Crazy!
I was offered a decent replacement though, the pregnant lady we had with us did not get the cost of her food reduced in price though even though the ribs weren?t available?
The food itself I?m sad to say was very basic, I had hunters chicken and the chicken was dry had crumbs on like kids frozen chicken, hardly any bbq sauce very disappointing.
The people that had steak all said it was chewy? I think the burgers were the best for people?
If it wasn?t my son?s birthday I would of said something
Definitely better restaurants to eat in!

Very very quiet for a Tuesday evening. Only 3 other people in the whole pub. Lovely pub but had no atmosphere at all.

If you?re looking for amazing food at a reasonable price then look no further!!
We went to the Black Horse Inn today for a roast dinner and when I tell you, this place is not just good food but also amazing service by the staff!!!
My son had a diary allergy and I?ve always struggled to find some places at are willing to accommodate his needs so as to make him feel included.
We booked the table the week before and when I mentioned my son?s requirements they could not have been more helpful! For a start, the waitress took all my details and said the chef would be more than happy to make my son dairy free Yorkshire puddings (his favourite!) instead of us bringing our own home cooked one. I was impressed by this? but then they went even further!!
I got a call from a staff member a few days before our booking to confirm that the chef would be making a batch of dairy free Yorkshire puddings just for my boy? I was impressed by this continuation of service but nothing prepared us for the amazing experience we were yet to receive when we arrived at the pub for our meal!
One the day, we arrived, we?re promptly seated and as soon as they knew we?d arrived the head chef came out to speak directly to us and my boy and said that not only had he made a batch of Yorkshire puddings dairy free but we could also take the remaining ones left over home for us to freeze!!
When the food came out it was beyond our expectations!!! Every bit was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully and my sons dairy free meal was brought out two/three separate plates (and also a separate gravy) so he could stuff his face to his hearts content!! The food (pictured) was so delicious and we could not have asked for more!! We took home all of what we could not eat in a take away bag too!
They even served my son with a dairy free ice cream sundae that he was overjoyed with!! Throughout our time there, we felt so looked after by the staff, they were so communicative, friendly and kind and made our day with how much detail and effort they went to include everyone!!
All of the food in total for 2 Adults and 2 Children with drinks came to such an amazing price we were genuinely shocked at the price!!
In summary (and I know my review is long!) if you?re looking for a new place to visit for a roast dinner on a Sunday (or even other foods on other days) then please book a at table here! You will not be disappointed!!
We will definitely be returning!!!

Where has everyone gone?
Used to be busy, but since the change of management, it feels like a very different place.
The pint I had was off, smelt wrong immediately, and totally lifeless, so I gave it back. No refund, no apology, and charged for the replacement. I won't be back in a hurry.
It's such a shame as I used to go a couple of times a week ? for years.

Limited lunch time menu.
We ordered food for a business lunch and were then reapproached a few minutes later being told our selection was not available as there was a big party due in later that day and the chef was saving food for them.
We were guided to select something from the wrap part of the menu.
It appeared there was some break down in communication/lack of team work between the chef and the waitering staff on what food options were available.
