Very cool place. I recommend the place on the street with a view of the river. Quiet, nice to talk. A little upset that the staff is slow to clean up after the guests who left, and then the seagulls take the remains on the plates.

Drinks came out quickly, latte is creamy and tasty lovely blend
There?s a kids breakfast bar with lots of cereal to chose from
Wife is lost in the book swap shelf and a couple of board games
The stylish atmosphere is amazing
Staff is friendly
There?s dog treats!!!
It?s a large place with a river view and outside sitting with large umbrellas
And the food is absolutely stunning!

Faultless experience which has been repeated EVERY visit!
Exceptional service which went above and beyond, impressing all of our party and ensuring that all of our needs were surpassed!
Having lived in Exeter all my life I have happily visited the Puerto Lounge with friends and family on numerous occasions, I mean, what's not to love? The close proximity to the river, the quayside, the varied menu at very reasonable prices and always space available both inside and out with friendly, helpful staff seemingly abundant.
However, this week, I was actually speechless about how well our party were looked after.
Working at a local community hospital, it's useful to know that there are places where our staff and residents can go safely with the knowledge that the staff care.
I asked at short notice for a cake and candle for one of our guests as it was his birthday; Vicky, who I believe is the manager, immediately confirmed that they would provide a suitable dessert and that although they didn't have any candles, they would nip over the local shop to buy them. The dessert was provided, ice cream as well as cake with a singing member of the team and a candle lighting the way! We were so impressed and this superb effort made our gentleman's day!
All of the team at the Puerto Lounge are friendly, welcoming and keen to help every visitor have a great experience and it's no wonder when they are led by someone as caring and exceptional at customer service as Vicky! Thank you! It meant a lot to us all xx

Been couple of times before and really liked and enjoyed the visits? however this will be the last time. It feels like the place has gone downhill.
The ordering system is just silly - really what is wrong with someone coming to the table and taking your orders? Food was all ok? but plates left on the table for a lifetime when finished. Went to the bar to make order for the tables desserts ?oh we don?t have that one sorry? back to table get alternative wants??oh sorry we don?t have any of that one left?, three attempts made - in the end admitted we could only be given on option of two dishes? ordered from that extensive list?. Five minutes later waiting staff comes to table to say one of those was unavailable too (bear in mind we were early lunchtime diners) asked for refund for half the order that I?d paid for that was not available? go through process (which could only be done by going back to bar again, the portable machines not being portable) ? complete process and given advice ?that should be back in your account in 3 working days, sometimes it doesn?t work so keep the receipt if you need to come back and sort it out?!!!
All in all a great shame as it used to be my preference when family debate on where to go. Now off the list.
Note to Proprietors: this isn?t a complaint to ?have a discussion, and hope we can remedy? this is a complaint so that you know why you?ve lost a customer and to alert you to reasons.

We cycled in from Topsham for Tapas (and a pint). Excellent value and a good selection to choose from. Being able to sit outside was a bonus and it was a good atmosphere. The icing on the cake, is that the staff here are exceptional. We have visited a few times and they are always pleasant and helpful. Attentive, without being in your face and really do care about your visit (not always the case with the larger chain establishments) They are a credit to the company.

I had tapas and the food was amazing, nice atmosphere sitting outside and friendly staff. Just be cautious of the large amount of pigeons like that to fly around you. Will definitely be returning, recommend to anyone looking at going.

Came here with family as I am an assistant manager of a Lounge myself and recommend Lounges always. Cannot recommend this one however. Came in here and tried to order food. Apparently their chefs had a busy day and even though we still had around 10-15 minutes to order we could not because there were ?over 4 of us?? I fully empathise with a busy day and I completely understand it is annoying when someone comes in and orders food close to kitchen closing time. However at my Lounge we would still put an order through? Especially if we were ready to spend over £100. Not only that but they couldn?t do more than 6 cocktails due to having ?no ice left?. I also understand that cleaning the ice machine is a weekly job, usually done on a Sunday? However with the cocktail club deal, on a Saturday? I can?t quite understand being out of ice? I never put bad reviews in for anywhere but this type of attitude would not stand in the Lounge I work in. Maybe ops needs to have a little look?

Me and my mother visited this restaurant roughly one year ago and the food then was absolutely spectacular. The food was delicious and portion sizes were pretty generous.
Today me and my family were shopping in Exeter and were really looking forward to eating at this tapas bar once again as the food was so exceptional about a year ago.
What a change since then! Firstly as we entered the restaurant we were hit with a slight unpleasant toilet odour and a general slight stale smell to the air.
We quickly ordered some drinks on the app which took a long time to arrive. The food took even longer to arrive and was pretty lukewarm when it did finally come.
The food was totally different to how it was a year ago. Really cheap tasting and looking and tiny portions. The calamari had a very soggy, oily coating and was tiny and the fried cauliflower was also sodden with oil and very soggy and flavourless (apart from a cheap, stale chip fat flavour).
The fried chicken was a disgrace, think a cheap iceland chicken dipper thrown in a deep fat fryer and was also pretty soggy and flacid.
The bread was tasteless and overly soft, no seasoning on any of the fried food apart from a bit of paprika and cheap melted cheese on the cheesy fries and the hummus was average too (bland without enough garlic, salt olive oil and lemon).
We also had a few of their tiny, greasy tacos. I don't mind greasy food but these were dripping in oil and filled with incredibly bland and oily pulled meat, again not properly seasoned and with no fresh ingredients. They were greasy, stodgy and really tasteless.
Overall the food was subpar and what you would expect from a local local pub that knew nothing about good food. Extremely disappoiting, especially as the food was fantastic here a year ago.
I'm unsure if there has been a change in chef or if the owner is trying to penny-pince but the quality and taste of the food has gone from gourmet to really quite poor, not to mention the laughably small portion sizes.
Left feeling unsatisfied and slightly nauseous from the poor quality, cheap, greasy food.

It?s a real shame. I called to book a table for five for my daughter?s 21st birthday, a special occasion, so I naturally wanted to ensure we had a table. I was told, quite abruptly, ?We don?t take bookings.? No alternative offered, no warmth, just? that.
So I politely said I?d book elsewhere, somewhere that values its customers and understands the importance of making people feel welcome. The response? ?OK then.? No effort to keep our custom or show a hint of hospitality.
In an industry that?s already facing enough challenges, it?s surprising to see such indifference. Wishing you the best of luck with your business continuity.
