“we had the best wedding at the lord haldon hotel! we couldn't have asked for more! the food was incredible the staff were amazing and done so much for us! deni is the best wedding organiser and so talented at making it look beautiful and paco really made the day run smoothly and helped tell us what was happening next. they were so attentive and nothing was too much all the staff were absolutely incredible. highly recommend this amazing venue for your wedding!”

“My hubby and I have share the same birthday so we booked to stay for 2 nights. The hotel has a great location to town. The hotel generously upgraded our room to a Priveldge room and gave us a free drink in the hotel bar. What was also really nice to know was that hotel bar is a 24 hour bar so we were never rushed to go to bed. This came in handy after we had a late night out clubbing ☺️ we never got to experience breakfast unfortunately, but have no doubts it would have been top tier. Thank you for having us and looking after us. The staff were all lovely and we are looking forward to coming back again soon!”

“Stayed there for the night. Room was good. Stayed in a basic single room which suited me.

Food and drink were great, and so were the staff.

“Comfortable, clean and at a very convenient location. Parking is at the Pay&Display that serves the train station. Value cooked breakfast with vegetarian options; on quieter days is cooked to order. Self-service coffee machine.”

“We didn't go all put on food, just had a main and dessert. That came to just under 100 pound including drinks, however the food and service was amazing and I would happily go back!”

“The hotel is very new. The staff are very welcoming. The rooms are OK but a bit small. The bed was comfortable, but the duvet was made of something that sounded like crisp packets being scrunched up. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room. You have to go to a station in the hallway which was quite a way from my room. This had no boiling water, which is no good for a tea drinker.
Dinner in the ISCA restaurant was amazing. There was a good selection of both vegetarian and meat-eater options. Breakfast wasn't quite so good as there were no vegetarian sausages on offer, so £20 for eggs, beans and mushrooms seemed a bit steep. Also, the waiter brought our first cup of tea, if you can call it that. It was a mug of hot water with a tea bag on the side! I ended up having the Devon toast for £7 which was delicious.”

I stayed here for one night while on a work trip and had a lovely experience.
I was greeted by a young lady with stunning emerald green hair—sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she was so polite and helpful. Thanks to her, my stay started off on a really positive note.
The room was clean and comfortable, with excellent climate control that kept things perfectly warm and cool.
Breakfast was delicious, and at just £10, it was great value.

“Really enjoyed going in, great friendly atmosphere & service, definitely well organised and run very well but the only snag I understood they preferred cards instead of cash.”

“Booked here for a dog-friendly breakfast. Really great food & even better service. Had the full English & salmon & scrambled eggs. The breakfast starter of building your own yoghurt with granola, compote etc was super nice too.
We sat inside as it was a little chilly but there was a very cute outside area for dining which would be lovely too.

“Generally OK, friendly check in. Arrival in room and the sofa bed wasn't made up for the children, had to ask. No milk either. Had to ask. Only enough mugs, tea etc for 2 people even though it was a room for 4. Checked out and noone ever seems to ask how the stay was anymore. Is this in case someone complains?Room was good size and clean. Staff friendly.Rooms: Enough room. For the 4 of us.Nearby activities: Short walk to centre of town and situated opposite central station. lots of eateries around and a coop just down the road. Other parking within a short distance as the car park outside is tiny and usually full.”

“Had an excellent sty..only thing was we could nt have an extra coffee in morning as we had an early check in and there was no one answering the reception phone but that was trivial..maybe leave a basket of uht milks coffees and teas on reception so guests can help themselves”

“I have stayed in many Travelodges because you pretty much know what you are going to get. The location was OK, it wasn't the quietest because I had a room right next to the fuel station. The room was clean and spacious. The shower was nice and hot and you had all the usual tea, coffee, sugar, milk, kettle, TV and a comfortable bed. The staff at check in and out were nice too.”
