We went in looking at the somerford sofa, Kurtis was so great, knowledgeable and friendly. The store was clean and put together well, all the staff were friendly. We are excited for our new sofa. Thankyou Kurtis!

DFS deserves zero star and is loosing reputation by their dishonesty. Poor quality sofa broke within 6 months, not reliable guarantee. Service manager came after 10 months of my complaint, says that?s normal ?, once DFS got your money, don?t expect any guarantee from them

We have had two sofas now from DFS, both times it came with headaches. We ordered our first one back in September and advised DFS that we were not due to move into our property until January, but because of the deal they had on with the sofa we wanted, we purchased it prior and arranged to have it delivered to our new home in January. As it closed in nearer to the time, the communication was poor, we ended up cancelling the delivery to come and collect the sofa instead as we didn?t want to rely on DFS to deliver our new sofa, trying to get our money back for the delivery was a days work in itself! Constant times them saying, yes this date it will be here? perfect! The day rolls around? no phone calls, no texts, nothing, so, I venture in, yes I was told my sofa would be here today?! Ok, let me check, no, in a couple of days, ah great. The staff in the store are brilliant but everything else? never mind. The second sofa we ordered back in May and straight away we opted to collect, all done and paid for with a estimated delivery to the store of the 17th June, perfect, the 16th rolls around and the app thing updates and says the 23rd, okay bit short notice but good to be told. 23rd comes? again, no communication about it, I venture to the store again, is my sofa here? No it will be Wednesday? okay no problem, another 2 days, now it?s Wednesday, AGAIN! No communication, no texts no call no email, nothing, so, I go to the store again. My sofa?! Ah yes? its in Cullumpton, it?ll be here tomorrow? great, thanks for telling me, now, you can guess what happens here?. Thursday, told my sofa will be here? AGAIN, no text, no call, nothing soo?. we go to the store again!! Our sofa?! Yes its out back, did you not get a call?! Well if you go round back with a van? well hang on, I now need to go and organise the van to collect it as there is no point hiring a van to use to collect a sofa from DFS as you?ll just be using it as a run around for the day! We eventually got both Sofas and love them; the staff in the store are great but the operation as a whole? buy from somewhere else.

DO NOT SHOP WITH DFS.
We ordered two sofas from DFS, with a scheduled delivery date of a Friday afternoon between 3pm & 6pm. We arranged for our other sofa to be collected that morning and tracked our DFS sofas but they never arrived, my partner looked at the tracking at 7:30pm and it said delivery could not be made and WE had to contact Customer Services to rearrange. At the time we had an 8 week old baby with nowhere to sit in our new house with her. The lady at Customer Services was lovely but advised delivery couldn?t be rescheduled as our sofas were not back in the warehouse, therefore we wouldn?t receive them that weekend. We only arranged for our sofa to be collected the same day as all wording from DFS indicated we would be getting our sofas with no mention of any potential non-deliveries. Customer Services advised the driver would call to apologise and explain why delivery couldn?t take place, apparently this is procedure but it never happened.
Saturday morning we received a text saying DFS has attempted to call to re-book delivery but we never had a missed phone call, and the number the message advised to call did not ring and said it was not available. WE had to ring Customer Service again, to rearrange our delivery. A gentleman was able to reschedule the delivery for Monday but advised he was not aware of the number in the text. We asked for the procedure to make a complaint and was advised to do this online. Our delivery was rebooked for Monday which meant I had to take time off of work because my partner had to take our baby for her first set of jabs that day and we didn?t want to miss the delivery.
On Monday the sofas arrived, delivered by independent delivery men, NOT DFS staff. Our white sofa arrived with a black mark all down the arm and the delivery man said this was a constant issue with the packaging and a lot of the white sofas would have marks on them, he cleaned it off with a wipe but said if it remained we would have to contact DFS to arrange a replacement. My partner called Customer Services to request to put a formal complaint in about the whole process and we were able to arrange for someone to call us, they did call that week and unfortunately she missed the call but the voicemail left was poor and said to call Customer Services to request a further call back! We done this and waited?
After two weeks no further communication so a complaint was lodged online via their website and two weeks later? silence.
DFS care about taking your money and not providing a satisfactory service. There is no formal complaint procedure by the looks of it, DFS have looked to wash their hands of us. Customer Services were apologetic but had their hands tied by the shoddy procedures DFS do have in place and to top it all off when you sit on one of our sofas it squeaks quite loudly, but we can?t even raise a complaint and speak to someone about the terrible process so what chance would we have speaking to someone about the actual sofa issue!?
Honestly, DFS are not worth the hassle. We will never buy from there again and recommend to all friends and family the same.

Not jumped on as we walked in, very casual. We found a member of staff who talked us through our options and offered us a hot drink. Completed all paperwork and now just waiting for a delivery date. Excellent

Curtis was great in helping my partner and myself find the perfect sofa for our first home! Really good customer service, at no point did we feel pushed or pressured into anything- he explained the whole process extremely well and was so kind and welcoming!

I can?t reward less than 1 star! Shocking experience from start to finish. They couldn?t even order the correct sofa, which I appreciate human error can happen? But instead blame the customer first is DFS Exeter managers motto!Even after two members of staff had checked to make sure the correct sofa was ordered, which it wasn?t it was clear on delivery day. Completely wrong colour on day of delivery, no feet, no foot stool. But the footstool was the correct colour. They got one part of the order right but didn?t deliver it. I didn?t get my new sofa for Christmas as promised . Then I experienced late delivery, well didn?t even show up. As apparently I was told they weren?t delivery that day, so why would I waited in all day, just ridiculous!So wrong colour sofa, no show and lack of communication to name a few things that I experienced with Dfs Exeter.To be honest communication is non-existent, had to chase consistently for updates and even a response. It can take up to two weeks to response to email, it would seem. The overall experience has just been abysmal! Save your money and buy from someone else, that know what they're doing and actually care about customer serviceMaybe this is just DFS Exeter but I don?t think it is.Management are a useless and don?t care either.This might be harass but is the complete truth to the experience I have had with this supposedly professional company!!
