They are a nightmare to get hold of via phone, and with this offer, a lack of information and reliability, which was a great shame!,I've gone elsewhere to another company and received an excellent quality experience with no fuss or hassle, and the communication is very good, so connells missed out on good business due to their unprofessional inadequate offerings! .

Connells Estate Agents is a poorly run, incompetent and slimy business. On every visit to the office, the staff lazed about and loudly discussed nights out, sex and their customers, so it was hard to concentrate on what the person who was trying to help us was actually saying. 'Help' is probably a bit too strong of a word, actually. Having paid the holding deposit in March, it wasn't until the end of September, 5 days before we were due to move in, that we were finally sent contracts and were able to pay our first rent installment, and this was not for lack of trying. We sent numerous emails, many of which were ignored, called up dozens of times, only to be told we would be 'called back later', which of course we never were. We spent the first half of our time dealing with one agent, and, when she was transferred to another branch, did not tell us. We called the Exeter office multiple times asking for her, but each time were told she was not available. It took a full two weeks before anyone actually told us she did not work there anymore, and a week after that before we were actually assigned a new agent. When we finally arrived to collect our keys, the agent had two different sets of keys and didn't know which went to our house, and which to another. He sat for about half an hour trying to work it out, before agreeing to meet us at the property. We arrived there a good twenty minutes before he did, despite us being on foot, and when he did arrive, he had a bag of about twenty different keys. He tried them all one by one, and when none worked, he called the landlord to come sort it out. We had to wait a further half hour, for a friend of the landlord who should not have had to come out, to get there, whilst the agent simply went back to the office. Not only this, but Connells insisted on signing us up to the energy plan with a company which is one of their partners, despite the offer for the rent very clearly including bills in the price. Calls with the landlord confirmed that he was already dealing with the bills, and had no idea that Connells was trying to set us up with a different company. Spark Energy called me about five times a day for a week, despite the fact that I had told them I was not on their programme, and they still took money out of my bank account without my knowledge, to pay for energy which we are not even using. I have not had a single good experience with this company, and I would rate it lower than one star if I could. Not only were my housemates and I victims of their terrible service, and underhand practices, but our landlord also has immediately decided to stop using them as a company, as he has had problems with them throughout the entire process.
