Typical Wetherspoons. Had a good breakfast on Sunday morning. Not overly busy o Friday night for drinks. Usual wetherspoons menu and tariff.

Nice pub I ordered a large chips. Service was quick and the batter was very crisp. I enjoyed the food and would definitely go again.

I ordered a steak with jacket potatoes and wine for about £14. The sad looking meal had just a steak, a smallish potato that looked boiled rather than baked and nothing else. The wine was not great even for the price. This cost cutting costs Wetherspoons customers. The steak however was OK and the service was very good.
Dietary restrictions: It is slightly complicated getting gluten free food as the staff are instructed not to give recommendations. There is an illuminated board which helps but this does not contain prices.

Welcome to Devon in October, season of mists and mellow downpours. During one of these we ducked into The Vigilance for a swift. Ordering at the bar was very civilised with people actually waiting their turn and nit jumping the queue. Staff were professional and at the same time personable, with time for locals and visitors alike. As usual the facilities were clean and plentiful. Older type 'Spoons, but well run and good enough.
