I wanted a breakfast bap with sausage and a coffee to take away. I was told I could only have a baguette, despite them offering baps to eat in. I hate baguettes. The manager said this was about pricing policy! Total inflexibility! So different from a few years ago. I have been a customer of Johns since childhood (60+ years) . I will not be going back!

Absolutely fantastic deli!
Johns of Appledore is a real gem ? everything about this place is top quality.
The range of fresh produce, local treats, cheeses, and baked goods is amazing. You can tell everything is carefully selected, and the staff are so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
We popped in for some lunch and were blown away by the fresh sandwiches, homemade cakes, and excellent coffee.
There?s a lovely little seating area if you want to eat in, and the whole place has a welcoming, relaxed vibe.
If you?re in Appledore, this is a must-visit. Whether you?re picking up picnic bits, browsing local goodies, or just stopping for a bite to eat, Johns delivers every time. Highly recommend!

Had a takeaway coffee - simple coffee with milk (not a latte, Americano if you like with dash of milk) - it was like dishwater - seriously for £3.65 as a takeaway it was not worth the £1.29 McDonalds would have charged (and their coffee is much superior to this) - I think they must have used a jar of Nescafé ? maybe ? just a cheaper version.
My wife had a Latte - she said hers was ?ok? but not worth the £4.25 ? this shop clearly trades on its ?fine food? marketing ? coffee doesn?t match what liked very nice ?product? on display ?

No vegetarian breakfast option (other than granola). Pokey little cafe. Community cafe nearby is a better bet for eating in

delicious Crab & Scotch egg platters. Lovely relaxed & friendly atmosphere. Partner really enjoyed Shore Break ale.

Went for breakfast and found that the menu was really limited compared to what they say the menu is online. Had checked beforehand as wanted some vegetarian options. Very little for vegetarians actually and when I asked for a breakfast sandwich with just the eggs (ie no sausage or bacon) was told I would have to pay the full price for it. Croissants are lovely but would not bother to eat in again. Really expensive too!

Really nice cafe and shop combined. I had a really good Americano. Their pies are a delight, all done with a welcome and a smile, best place for a coffee

Beautiful store with gteat produce. But..do not rely on there advertised closing times. Managed to rush there half an hour before closing and turned away.

Sadly we waited an hour for our food and ended up having to leave without receiving any of it as they were unable to tell us when it would arrive and we ran out of time

What a fantastic find this was in Instow. Dog friendly cafe (entry by ringing the door bell on separate entrance just for dog people)
I went for the regular English breakfast. Have to say it was the nicest I have ever had ! my wife had porridge with blue berries, that was wonderful too. We will definitely be back. Top marks!! thank you

I recently purchased some take away food from the Appledore shop. The bill came to just shy of £50 which was extremely expensive for what we had. The food was inedible? the quiches were gooey and so filled with cheese they oozed and were greasy. The bread was completely tasteless and extremely greasy. Again inedible. The coleslaw had so much sauce on it you couldn?t taste anything apart from the sauce - most unpleasant. Lastly the cake was - quite frankly - disgusting. We had to throw all of the food in the bin. I emailed John?s as I felt it was the right thing to do before leaving a bad review but they have not responded - I gave them 5 days before writing this.
Very sad as I won?t be returning.

We stopped here for a light lunch. Had a very nice spinach, sundried tomatoes and Cornish yarg. The place is rather smaller but they sell all sorts of nice products.
