We came for dinner. The host was originally from our neck of the woods (Harrow) and we got along immediately. There were two veggies in our party and they were spoilt for choice. The house specials were v tempting so I went for one.Warning to all. The host loves for his guests to leave satisfied so be sure and starve for most of the day as his portions are generous as well as delicious.Thank you for looking after us so well.

Super pub that apparently dates from 13th Century. Food selection and quality was fantastic, warm, cosy and authentic pub. It is off the beaten track in Buckland Brewer but definitely worth searching for.

Found this place by chance, despite living in North Devon for years, and so glad we did. Lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. A proper pie, with a pastry bottom, and not a casserole with a lid on it. Great seafood too. Will definitely be back.

Spent 4 days in Buckland brewer and found this little gem of a pub, literally a minutes walk from where we were staying. On arrival the owner was very friendly and welcomed us, we spent the entire trip having our evening meal here, which was very reasonably priced, great portion sizes, tasted great, and excellent service. The pub is fairly small inside, very low ceilings and doorways, so if you?re tall be careful. Tasty food but portions fairly small and a bit pricey. Access roads to the location are very narrow lanes with loads of uneven roads, thankfully we didn?t meet anything on route.
