Very welcoming staff. Lovely big bedroom and bathroom. Evening meal was fabulous. Clean and tidy. Breakfast was all freshly cooked and tasty. Plenty to see and do in the area. There is an antique shop at the back which is worth a visit.

The room, staff, breakfast and the bar are fantastic. Everything related to the room is so clean and tidy, bed, sheets , pillows, bathroom, toilet and shower . We have just had two nights here and we can?t praise the hotel enough.

Staying for 5 Nights the room very comfortable. Breakfast has good options. The daytime and evening menu good. Staff are friendly and helpful. We have stayed before and have have seen a change ownership but this has made no difference in the welcome we received

Have been coming to Beer, Devon for the past 40 years......always visiting The Dolphin during our stays. Went this evening for dinner....what has happened? New owners......food was abysmal. Fish had absolutely NO taste, certainly wasn't freshly caught even though the sea is 100 yds away & Beer is a renowned fishing village!! So VERY disappointed. Will not be returning.

Popped in for lunch. The decoration is fine and it's clean enough. Food was over priced and mediocre. Very disappointing. If you are in Beer try one of the other lovely eateries and don't get robbed at the Dolphin.

This is a tired-looking hotel that needs an investment of money and effort. The building is lovely with original tiles and stained glass, but the rooms are dated and a bit shabby. The corridors do not create a good impression. Breakfast was adequate but I would?ve preferred to have paid less for the room to have breakfast elsewhere. The staff were friendly but more care is needed in housekeeping. Brilliant location in Beer.

Great location, beautiful little village, 1-2 mins walk from beach, superb location for South West Coastal Path, lots of free parking, lovely cooked breakfast on both mornings, polite and professional staff.Good sized single bedroom, however the shower pressure was poor, on the TV BBC1 was the only channel not to intermittently pixelate, mattress springs were digging in a little. On both nights loud drunk lads were laughing and talking outside my bedroom window in the early hours because they couldn't figure out how to get in to the hotel (perhaps reception should explain when people check in).

So far it's ok wish the main menu had more meat and lots of vegetables, maybe in the future

A late booking for a few nights away....very impressed with the Dolphin Hotel in general. Staff were very friendly, the single room with shower had everything I needed, even a hairdryer! The room was clean and bright, overlooked the outside seating area, but wasn't over noisy. Small car park to rear, and adjoining antique shop ....very nice. Food in the Bar was OK, menu a bit limited, the Sunday Roast was nice. Breakfast was buffet for most items and hot food cooked to order, reasonable selection, and food nicely cooked. The Hotel caters for Dogs, but they aren't allowed in the restaurant . They are allowed in the Bar. A real shame that staffing does NOT allow the Dolphin to open on Monday and Tuesdays...although staying Guests are catered for at Breakfast, but that's all. Strangely most of the other restaurant's in Beer close on a Monday as well, if you have no transport this can make finding dinner a bit of a challenge. The local buses to various nearby Villages and places of interest stop at the top of the Village, but the service was very haphazard while I was there. NO buses on a Sunday, and the Saturday service is about to be cut down. Beer is a lovely village, and the shingle beach was being well used by all sorts of people, Paddle boarders, Kayakers etc. The beach has an array of food outlets, of various kinds. Obviously still a fishing village, on a small scale, and has a small fleet of boats on the beach. Thank you, Dolphin Hotel for a very pleasant few days at a reasonable price.

Well placed Hotel only yards from the beach with parking on site. Rooms basic but clean with fresh towels available daily if needed. Breakfast included in price. Overall cost of stay was very reasonable. Restaurant and bar closed all day Monday and Tuesday during our visit which seemed to be down to a lack of staff (which we were informed of 4 days before we visited so were able to plan for this accordingly). Overall we enjoyed our stay, Beer is such a lovely place to relax in with some beautiful views a clean beach and great walks

We loved our short break here. Five stars plus plus plus. Beer is beautiful. This hotel really welcomes guests with dogs but isn?t ?doggy ?. Breakfast was the best. Bank holiday weekend, hotel full, and still peaceful. Loved it. We will be back.

My friend Matthew and I just enjoyed a truly superb Sunday lunch here. I had the roast beef, everything was perfectly cooked, including the Yorkshire pudding which was crispy on the outside and still soft in the middle. Nice beer, friendly service, great food - give this place a try!It is also in a very beautiful spot and the walking here is lovely.

We popped in for a coffee and was able to sit in with our doggie. Lovely bar area and looks newly refurbished, an area outside at the rear to sit if you want to. Very friendly staff who loved fussing our pooch. Would highly recommend this hotel but unfortunately cant comment on the accommodation.
