My wife and I went for a sunday lunch. The village inn is seriously dated and the Sunday lunch was like my Nan cooked in the 70s. No just a choice of beef or chicken. Dessert was not bad thats why I gave a 2 star

The Village Inn is my go to local when the dogs are with me. Friendly, great food - I dare you to finish the mixed grill, and dogs are always welcome. Good selection of lagers, ales & beer. Call ahead for a reservation, they can get busy.

Impromptu visit as our first choice in nearby Launceston was sadly Infected with loud drunk chavs. Warm welcome as mention before , ? that?s your table ? . After that ??..great Village pub atmosphere , it?s a locals place so respect that . Food was great traditional pub grub , service was great . Proper Rugby Pub too which was an added bonus . Not for snow flakes or those with Champagne tastes and lemonade money . Proper Pub with good food . Dog was also very welcome . Beware the moon

Do not go here, the place was empty on a Sunday dinner time in august, they ran out of the beer we wanted. We ordered food, no Sunday dinner on the menu, I should of just paid for the drinks and walked out. The food was disgusting, my kids both got pizza and chips. Definitely frozen food for everything. Couldn?t wait to get out! There was just locals sat at the bar drinking. The good reviews on this page are wrong.

Rudest welcome we have EVER had! Booked a table a week in advance for a special reunion meal for family from Launceston, Exeter and Dawlish to return to this village pub that had been our lovely local for very many years. We always loved the old place and thought it perfect for this occasion. We arrived in good time and said there were 5 of us instead of 4 and hoped it was OK? Was met with ?well it?ll have to be won?t it? from the ?lady? behind the bar. I thought she was joking at first but she clearly wasn?t! We all sat down and my husband went and ordered drinks checking it was ?OK? for our daughter to stay and eat with us after she had driven over an hour to come along and surprise us all. Bar woman said it was OK but continued to glare rudely when any of us passed her (that is when she could lift her ever scowling face from her mobile phone). Our waitress was such a lovely girl. Nothing was too much trouble for her and there were smiles aplenty for us and the service and food itself was very good. The woman behind the bar didn?t raise a smile once. She made us all feel very uncomfortable and didn?t even thank us when we left after parting with a lot of money. We will never return. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE and whoever employs her should think hard!
